Why I don't speak when I am angry?

Have you ever noticed how rarely
ANGER and Wisdom✨ seem to arrive at the same time?

Think about someone you genuinely respect :-

Your parents,
Siblings,
Close friends, or
Even yourself,
truly angry and still speaking with complete clarity.

Most of the time, anger doesn't make us say what we actually feel. It makes us say what we feel in that moment.

And perhaps that's the reason silence becomes important.

"Not every silence is weakness, or u r wrong in that situation."

Sometimes, walking away from an argument is simply choosing not to let a temporary emotion make a permanent statement.

Before letting the words out...

Give it five minutes✋

Step away☘️
Let the mind settle☃️

Because

...The situation may not change in those five minutes, but you might...

And once the anger passes,

  • you may still disagree,
  • you may still be hurt, and
  • you may still need to say something.

But you'll probably say it with a clearer mind.

Maybe maturity isn't about never getting angry. Maybe it's about

**Knowing when not to let your anger speak for you.**

PS: The 2nd line is not about people pleasing, by people I meant people whom u care for.

Same same

Whenever something is not to our liking, we get uncomfortable or at times upset, which causes a disturbance in our thoughts that turns into anger. Catching a changing thought at its onset is best, but if anger has already risen, as you rightly said, keeping quiet and taking a stroll is better than ruining a close relationship.

Yeah, I understand that. Sometimes when we are hurt or angry, it’s better to stay quiet for a while and give ourselves time to calm down. It can save us from saying things we don’t really mean.

Silence in anger isn’t weakness; sometimes it’s the strongest form of self-control. Well said.

In our close loop:-

Absolutely! It’s often a primary reason we get upset or angry with someone, when things don’t go the way we imagined or expected. And then, the blame game begins.

Outside our loop:-

Everyone wants to win an argument, but I think instead of lashing out, we should first pause and analyse the situation.

You might win the argument, but the words you say in anger don’t just hurt the other person,
they disturb your own mental peace too.

But then again, we’re human. Managing emotions isn’t everyone’s cup of tea. ✌

Anger clouds our judgment, and in that moment, we speak purely out of emotion.

The problem is, our emotions are rarely neutral, they naturally make us biased toward our own perspective.

Giving time to relax our mind, then he starts thinking about situation rationaly.

Before an emotion comes a thought, which is very subtle; then you feel some chemical reactions happening in your body, and then the emotion rises. All of this happens within seconds, so one cannot control it, but with practice, it is possible.

Never enter an argument to win; always enter to know the truth. You may be surprised how liberating it will be when winning is not your goal.

"Never enter in an argument to win"

This is the thin line between Debate (lashing out) and Discussion.
