Do you agree with the Supreme Court’s order to relocate all stray dogs from residential areas to animal shelters?
As a dog lover, I can’t agree with just rounding them all up and locking them away. They deserve care, not exile. Sterilization, vaccination, and proper feeding zones can keep both people and dogs safe without taking away their freedom.
When rape victims are still waiting for justice, but the government’s priority is catching dogs this isn’t humanity, it’s hypocrisy.

I don't really like that idea tbh... See I understand the need to protect people..Public safety is important ... But these dogs are also living beings ...They know the lanes, people who feed them, the children they used to play with.. and taking them away suddenly can be very hard on them... Safety is definitely important but so is kindness...If we only protect humans and forget about animals ,then we loose a very important part of our humanity ... There are and there can be better ways like sterilizing and vaccinating dogs, keeping the street cleans and encouraging adoption ... Animals also feel pain, fear, love just like we do, or maybe more than us...

Exactly

God’s every creature is beautiful. Every creature is worthy of care and love. Dogs are the truest friends of humans. Nothing feels better than seeing the love and loyalty in a dog’s eyes for his owner. Dogs have a way of finding the people who need them. They have the ability to sense what’s really going on. Dogs do have emotions and feelings the same as humans have. Since so long people are spending a lot just to have high breed expensive puppies or dogs as a pet. Having pets is wonderful. But the problem is that we never give importance to stray dogs which makes a difference between the true dog lover and one who just buy to show off. A true dog lover always has the intentions of love and care for every dog. We all are having dogs in our streets and everywhere we go. We never notice them. I usually go for a walk daily. I notice one dog around me who follows me every day. Even stray dogs are cute, loyal and loving. We should notice their non-verbal actions. They do express everything. I do prefer to make a stray dog a pet rather than wasting copious of money in buying puppies and dogs. Dogs never want expensive food. They just need love, respect and care. Four chapatis and curd is enough to feed a dog. We should give it a try, it feels pleasing to feed stray dogs. Always do feed them and provide them shelter.

”A dog is the only thing on Earth that loves you more than he loves himself"

While the Supreme Court’s order rightly prioritizes public safety, the Pitbull attack in Chennai reminds us that both stray and owned dogs can pose risks. A balanced approach, sheltering, sterilization, vaccination, and responsible pet ownership, is needed for humane and effective dog management.

I get that dog bites and rabies are serious, and I truly feel for anyone who’s been through that. But taking the dogs away isn’t the answer. They can be sterilized, vaccinated, and cared for right where they are! And even the WHO and Animal Welfare Board of India say that’s the safest, most effective way. When you remove them, their territory opens up and new, unvaccinated dogs move in, which only makes the problem worse.

In my opinion they need just basic care not that shelter thing's, it's like you are throwing them and locking them in one room without their concerns they are not things right? They have life and you think putting them in shelter saves lifes , don't forget india is the second largest beef supplier in the world and the cows are keeping them in shelter to sell for beef meat and other things . showing this concern suddenly is like pure hypocrisy I saved a dog 2 years ago and realised that taking care , perfect time vacinnnation and giving them time to time food its more enough for their living so for me this supreme court decision sucks !!

Copied :rofl1:

The efforts they are putting to buried down the ssc issues and voting list users issue by this " Dogs need to be put in shelters case " need to be studied i swear they really planned well to hide these two issues by using this one .It maybe hypothesis so its only my opinion tbh .

Sry, May be I'm a Lil of that narrow minded kind. It's not one, two or three. Hundreds n hundreds of our children are posed to death ma, just coz they walk into the lane n for that sole mistake get bitten by the stray dogs? If u know how much they are into in those fraction of days, No one wd disagree with the very idea. Just think, if those victims were our loved one... Standing in front of the icu, seeing 'em die gradually, surging via all those pain, n still 'll we be that **humanistic**? Sorry, tbh, I'm not that humane 'may be. I prioritize the saying survival of the fittest. Moreover, I don't want anyone , not even my foes to experience such n such plights!!

BULLSHIT. BULLSHIT. BULLSHIT - So am I

1. Intentionally or unintentionally, drawing parallels between dogs with rape victims? No comments.
2. God's beautiful creatures? - Yes. Everything is - mostly. But, nature has its own balance if you leave it alone. Human civilizations only work towards disturbing that nature. None complains about having more wild buffaloes, elephants, deer, or anything in an untouched wildlife zone. Because, nature has this ruthless attitude - Only the best survives. Just telling you, few breeds eat their own babies if they think that a particular baby is not strong enough. If a human does this - they are called murderers - not in the animal world though.

3. Dog bites give rabies - Nope. Only a rabies infected dog bite / transfer of its saliva can give you rabies.
4. Most humans do not die because they get infected of rabies during dog bites/attacks - mostly they succumb to the injuries.

5. You don't like that idea - So? Nothing happens One need not like the idea. If you don't like that, let us better adopt them. Responsibilities should come ahead of emotions - absolutely my POV. Yes. Everyone has a right to exercise their 'Right to Freedom', but how many actually care about it - a question only you can answer to yourself.

6. Social Media Justice - I just do not want to use profanity - but this Social Media Justice - Running Signature Campaigns - fuels PR stuff, better ranking for Google Ads, like/shares/comments/whatever rot - Does not change anything. You can quote numerous cases. Fact is - it does very little / nothing, in the eyes of the law. Rather than that, maybe spending the same time outside - just to clean up the surroundings is a million times greater deed - it ensures no diseases are spread - dogs stay healthier - it is a bonus :D

7. People do not address the key problem:
a. Why do dogs bite - Lack of food, over population, territorial clashes. These Big 3 push a dog into overdrive mode - just like when a user whom you like does not respond to you and still exist, you might get a little mad. That can push you over the edge - like being rude 2 others, throwing some spam, and everything else that you may not do when you are in your sane mind. To add, even lack of bitches - female dogs - less access to copulation - hormonal imbalance, can push the dog. In fact, bitches - female dogs, often attack more.
b. Weather - Weather is another culprit that hides behind the clouds. You put yourself outside on a scorching summer day for 2-3 hours, come home and let your better-bitter half / parent / sibling / friend throw a prank at you. 65/100 times you might get mad at that. With lots of humans roaming around, assholes who just honk because they have one, and some creeps who threaten animals - dogs do get mad to a great extent, especially in summers. And their violent ratio can be around 35/100 - much better than humans for me.

8. Feeding stray dogs - The biggest mistake one can do possibly. Dogs are scavengers - without a doubt. The moment you are feeding a dog, you are creating a territory - a place for a pack to grow - a food promise means you are telling the dog 'mate come here when you are hungry / you get food here to cover your hunger'. A big big mistake - in rational and logical sense. Something one should start thinking for themselves the next time. If you really want dogs to be healthy - forget dogs, just a dog - get it sterilized and vaccinated, give it a collar, do not raise in the house - at least let it be in your street. Keep an eye on it. That's enough - you have done a great job. Water bowls are always welcomed.

9. Now comes another aspect - Who the fun gave you the rights to take away carnal pleasures aka sexual pleasures by sterilizing them? It is good that they get sterilized - they can still have sex - fulfil their sexual desires - and they will be healthy too. Because? They need not bare kids. Yes, bearing kids is very toiling process physically - mothers know it well, and so does who have interest in science.

10. Human Children - Most of them suck in their behavior towards animals - undoubtedly. It is not their fault - absolutely. The parents/guardians should inculcate passion, love, and respect - you read it right, animals need to be respected for who they are - towards animals. Most kids between ages 4 - 12 have this notorious habit of throwing stones, making faces, and showing actions - often the triggers in most cases depicting animal behavior. Worst part - in the name of pets, animals get ill-treated if one of the parent/child does not like the pet in the house. Some treat pets - especially dogs, as if they are toys and hugging machines. Go and hug a WILD BEAR - you will get a bear hug - once for life.
While I respect the idea of putting human life ahead of an animal - Aham Brahmasmi jumps into the context. Again, I support your cause - Dharma asks us to act with balance - with a bhava (intention).

11. Animals bite, so do humans - Yes. Bite is metaphorical in humans case. Can we remove all the creeps out from there? Yes, we do. But only after they are proven guilty by putting them in jails. Even there, these human criminals have rights - you also have Human Right Commission like setups for the same. But for dogs? This is the big picture. Something people should address. Dogs are being thrown out because:
a. Govt. cannot promise they wont bite
b. Govt. cannot promise they wont spread infections
c. Govt. failed to control population.

But reading the previous points surely tells even a common citizen is a part of the crime. Why dump wastes on the roads that can spread infections, leading dogs to be the vectors - that carry infections.

People only look at solutions that offer immediate fixes and control public uproar. They hate understanding problems, they hate acknowledging they too contributed for the mess, and above all, who the Fuck cares? It is just a dog. So be it. Let us (include me) rant on social media, chat sites, forums, and everywhere. Next day, a new girl/guy, new work, new call, old love, same partner, new route - whatever - let us move on - most of us do.

12. Dogs can be effected emotionally - Change of place, change of friends, change of their daily interactions really have deep long term emotional affect on a dog. Without a doubt. Fact is, dogs have to be taken away from a place - dharma and bhava come into the play- especially if it is threatening so called humans. But how this is being rolled out is what matters. People should chip in, give ideas, write down letters to the Chief Justice - a real physical letter - it still has a value. At least, come together, discuss, surely people can evolve at better thoughts.

I am doing what I can. Hoping that you also would do - if it really matters to you. I often don't tag people in my status or posts, but I am doing here. I want people to discuss - not for visibility - but to ensure you do really should understand the plight of a dog!

3-year-old boy dies after being bitten by rabid dog in Uttar Pradesh

His death led to the revelation that around 10 other children were also attacked by the same rabid dog. Following this, a team of health officials rushed to the village on Friday.

News Dated on 25 April 2025. Not in some 1890s or smthng, just 3 months back.

Love for dogs, humanity, social cults are just fine. Thou, do u agree with a innocent 3 year old lad being broken to shreds? I can't go that too kind for dogs. If the court goes for a thing, they do 've done atleast a dozen of research n earnest discussions. Wats the point in dragging the immaturity of a kid in that rn. I do find it strange when people can't be practical (ofcourse, I do respect your views, to begin with). Sterilization? What's the guarantee? Until n unless u do live in ultra luxury that can take your children in n out in cars with those **24*7** appointed drivers, u can't stop children nor urself to step Outta yr house. That doesn't mean u r liable to get bitten- be injured brutally n being forced to die for that thing. Or will u run a questionnaire that 'hey my lil pup, r u having rabies? If so don't bite me, else go on, meet yr daily quota: )

Everyone has a different mindset, fine. Still, I just cling to my pov.

Thanks for tagging dear,

Okay so after knowing whole context I must say " This is worst act passed by SC" if someone having rabies we have solution of that. They are animals not human being so that they can understand what's bad what's good. If you will show them love they loves you back they are well known as good friend of human being from Indus valley civilization time
