Kamasutra or widely known as the holy book of sex positions have something more to speak other than the sex positions. This text was written back somewhere around 2nd Century CE in India and till now, this is one of the famous text and literature in relation to sex. Everyone has heard about Kamasutra that helps to bring back the excitement in life. Apart from the facts of being a sexual nirvana, here are some rare facts about Kamasutra.
1."Kama” which is one of the four goals of Hindu life, which means desire including the sexual desire of a person and “sutra” literally means a thread or line that holds things together (means human).
2.
Kama Sutra, in parts of the world, is presumed or depicted as a synonym for creative sexual positions but in reality, only 20% of Kama Sutra is actually about sexual positions.
3.
Kamasutra is based on the “four main goals of life” commonly known as the purusharthas.
A. Dharma which means Virtuous living.
B. Artha which means Material prosperity.
C. Kama which means Desire
D. Moksha which means Liberation.
4.
A majority of the Kamasutra is all about the theory and philosophy of love and elements which trigger desire; how to sustain it and to know about the good and bad therein.
5.KAMASUTRA says a person should know how to make his living; youth is the time for pleasure but as the days pass by, a person should concentrate on virtuous living, hoping to escape the cycle of rebirth (moksha).
6.The Kamasutra also acknowledges that a person’s senses can be dangerous because when two lovers are busy in the battle of sex and friction, they are caught up in a fierce energy and pay no attention to dangers in life.( Kama Sutra says – Dharma (virtuous living) is better than Artha (material life). It warns people of the dangerous of life as people often tend to get blinded by love and desire.)
7.The Kamasutra carried a different attitude than the rest of the books, as it helped guide and warn a person against destruction while on a journey to find pleasure.
THE REAL MEANING: According to Sanskrit, Kama is nothing but the desire and Sutra means an invisible power or something that sticks things together. Being the oldest text, Kamasutra covers only 20% of the sexual desires whereas the remaining 80% depicts the theories and philosophies of life, which instigates desire. It also guides how a person could sustain in love. Nevertheless, the text is completely different from tantric sex.
PS :Tantric sex is an ancient Hindu practice that has been going for over 5,000 years, and means 'the weaving and expansion of energy'. It's a slow form of sex that's said to increase intimacy and create a mind-body connection that can lead to powerful orgasms
