Exclusions: People who are suffering in missiles hit areas and living under constant suppression.
Inclusions: People whose basic needs are fulfilled and ample time at hand and don’t know what to do with it.
The most comfortable and easy thing in life is – playing the victim! It demands nothing but sympathy. Everyone faces pain, rejection, or injustice! – I get it. But the difference lies in how we respond! Some broadcast their wounds for applause with twisted half-truths, others quietly build resilience with what ever the courage and WILL they have got. Always its our choice!
Complaining is like emotional fast food- it feels satisfying but leaves us hollow. Of course, life is messy! People will disappoint us, systems will fail us, and all the plans that we envisioned collapse. But feeding on drama! Only magnifies the chaos. In a world that rewards vulnerability but often confuses it with self—pity, the “victim card” has become most conventional sought-after tool as its very easy to pick and play! It’s a quick way to deflect the blame, earn sympathy or justify inaction?
We either evolve past our past or drawn into it endlessly with a repeated loop of a sympathetic cocoon. Stop replaying our story like a sad return but put it in a way what lessons we have learned and how those experiences made us better WE! The more we relive the victimization, the more defines us! Stop that nonsense!
I have seen lot of stronger human beings here, with tons of digital memorabilia cherishing their moments with loved ones but when all those vanished or faded- they still stood their ground without yelping about their grievances and became strong in the process of picking up their broken dreams to use it for their strength. That’s a wonderful job as only very few can do that! On the other hand, I have seen these victim players as well for millions of reasons beyond my comprehension as I could understand only few as mentioned above.
People are victimized! I understand that!! But when we narrate or express our sufferings, expectations, the broken dreams we should be thorough and honest! Shouldn’t be any twisted half-truths to lick our soul or satisfy our ego of – see what greater things we did for him/her but still she/he did this to me!?
Let’s get back to the drawing board. The first step to come out of this vicious cycle is – brutal honesty! Accept what happened- our choices, our mistakes, our circumstances- without any fucking pointing fingers!
Accusations shift the focus outward. Let’s draw our quadrant of SWOT – Strengths, Weaknesses, Opportunities, and Threats- and maximize on S & O and minimize W&T! it’s not easy! It needs soul cleansing! Even phenol doesn’t work but our intentions do! Stop telling the story of who hurt us and start rewriting the story of what we are becoming. We can’t move forward while replying our pain again and again blaming everyone under the sky for it, as drama drains energy!
The victim card is easy to play. But the victory card? Let’s stop waiting for life to get fair and start getting stronger than what’s unfair!
Note: My initial idea when I thought of this write-up, narrate with some examples I have seen here and relate & draw parlance, but I changed my mind mid way through and kept it as simple as I could.
