Please Don't Make Me Regret My Happiness

One of the saddest things you can do to someone is make them feel embarrassed about something that makes them happy. It could be a small thing that means nothing to you, but means the world to them. Maybe they are excited to share a story, talk about their favourite person, show you something they created, or tell you about a dream they are chasing. They come to you with a happy heart, expecting you to share a little of their joy. But instead, you laugh at them, make fun of their excitement, or make them feel stupid for caring so much.
You may forget what you said in a few minutes, but they may remember how you made them feel for a very long time.
We all have different things that make us happy. What seems silly to you might be special to someone else. Not everyone finds joy in the same things, and that is perfectly okay. You don't have to love what they love, understand what they feel, or agree with their choices. Sometimes, all you need to do is respect their happiness. If you cannot share their excitement, at least don't become the reason they lose it.
The real sadness is not just that you hurt them in that moment. It is what happens afterwards. The next time they feel excited about something, they may think twice before sharing it with you. They may hide their happiness, keep their dreams to themselves, or act as if something they love doesn't matter much to them. Slowly, the person who once spoke with so much excitement begins to stay quiet around you. And you may never realise that your words were the reason behind that change.
Remember, not everyone feels safe enough to show their true self to the world. When someone shares their happiness with you, they are also showing you a small part of who they really are. Don't make them regret it. Life already gives us enough reasons to feel sad, doubt ourselves, and give up on things we love. We don't need to become another reason for someone to hide their happiness.
You don't have to understand someone's happiness to respect it. And you don't have to share their excitement to protect it.
Sometimes, being a good person is as simple as allowing someone to be happy in their own way. So, the next time someone comes to you with shining eyes and a heart full of excitement, don't be the person who puts out that light. Be the person who lets it shine, even if you don't understand why it shines so brightly.

And moreover people are unaware that their action might create this much impact but in reality it does....If you can't get excited for what they're sharing atleast just listen to them instead of making them feel little about themselves. ...

Yeah... Very true. Sometimes people don't realise how deeply their words can affect someone. A little kindness and a patient ear can make a big difference

So true. Sometimes, the things that make us happiest might seem small or silly to others, but that doesn't make them any less special. If someone trusts you enough to share their happiness, protect that little piece of their heart. You don't have to understand everything they love; sometimes, just being happy for them is enough

Beautifully said. Celebrating someone else's joy, even if you don't fully understand it, is one of the kindest things we can do for each other. :)

Never make someone feel small for the little things that make their world beautiful. Sometimes, all they need is a safe place to be themselves. ✨

And reading your reply makes me want to apologize if my words have ever accidentally made you feel small. I always want to be the reason your beautiful little world feels celebrated, never small. :)

Create a curious mindset, then everything seems amazing. You wont have to try be courteous, in fact you will be equally excited to know about it.
