The Gold Rush: 49ers football

Really, this was an expected loss, the games have been so close since the start of the season their luck had to run out at some point. With all the injuries they've been dealt its suprising their record doesn't reflect that at this point.

San Francisco 49ers: (4-2) 19
Tamp Bay Buccaneers: (5-1) 30
 
ok, so this Sunday the red and gold face off against the Atlanta Falcons. These two teams first met up in the 1966 season. Its been 3 years since they've played against on another, and the 9ers came out on the losing end that time.

Lets see if they can change that. Their all time record against the Falcons stands at 48-32-2 with the 9ers ahead in the series.

That was a pretty good team the 9ers faced, and they took it to the Falcons, injuries to the top players and somehow Kyle Shanahan is able to piece game plans together and pull off wins.

Alrighty then, the 9ers get to take a trip to Ticksass (Texas) and take on the Houston Texans. The Texans are relatively new to the league having started the franchise back in 2002.

The last win for the Texans against the 9ers was back in 2009. These two don't face each other often with an all time record of 4-1 in favor of the 9ers.

oh that was a disgusting loss, complete breakdown of offense and defense in the same game. Young rookies on defense getting out of their zones and then being burned by the offense, very very poor performance from the 9ers.

alright, the 9ers get to travel to the east coast this Sunday to take on the New York Giants. These two have faced off against each other 43 times over the years, including 8 postseason games starting way back in 1952. The 49ers lead this series 22-21.
With the trade the 9ers just made for some pass rushers, this could help the 9ers get back their vaunted defense, and we'll perhaps see the return of quarterback Brock Purdy after being out since week 1.

Well I'd like to say that that was an impressive win, but lets be frank, it was against the last place team in the league and it SHOULD have been a much higher scoring game. The 9ers are still being dealt blows when it comes to injuries. On the plus side, you could hear the 9er fans more than the Giants fans in the stadium.

This week the gold rush will be taking on their division rivals Los Angeles Rams, early in the season the 9ers got the better of the Rams in overtime, but the Rams have been pouring it on since their loss to San Francisco, its going to be a tough one for sure.

So far the 9ers lead the series 79-71-3 dating back to Nov. 1, 1950

ugh, what a dismal game and loss. I really didn't have high hopes for this one. 28 injuries on the 49er roster, they can barely field a team this season. And last nights game showed it.

This week the 9ers head over to Phoenix to take on the division rival Cardinals. These two already faced each other earlier in the season with the 49ers barely squeaking by with a 16-15 win.

Both teams are playing badly this year, will just have to see which one sucks less this game.

This was a much needed win, especially with the return of Brock Purdy as the starting quarterback. He's playing like the $265 million dollar qb he was paid to be. The next 2 games SHOULD be easy for the 9ers, we'll see though.

Alrighty, the red and gold are back home for this one, they take on the Carolina Panthers. The 9ers have a 13-10 record versus the Panthers in favor of the Panthers, (one of the few teams the 9ers don't hold a winning record over in the league) the 9ers however won their last 2 matchups against Carolina, its actually been 3 years since their last game against one another.

This is a Monday night Primetime game.

ok, this week the 9ers get to take on the Cleveland Browns in Cleveland. Been a couple years since these two faced off, but, the Browns hold a wining record over the 9ers. 13-8 all time starting back in 1950, obviously its rare these two ever face off against one another.

that was a nice win, first win in Cleveland since 1984. With what little the team is working with this season with all the injuries the 9ers are still managing to pull in some good wins. They finally enter the bye week and can get some much needed rest for almost 2 weeks.

Alrighty then, after a much needed, almost 2 weeks of rest the red and gold return home to take on the Tennessee Titans.

These two haven't met much over the years, starting back in 1970 when the Titans used to be known as the Houston Oilers before their move to Tennessee back in the late 90's.

The 9ers hold a 9-6 record over the Titans, as of the last time these two met in 2021.

Now that was a good win for the 9ers after coming off of a much needed bye week and rest near the end of the season. The offense is working well with Brock Purdy at the helm, defense is giving up some yards though, especially in the secondary with some pretty good chunk yardadge.

This also marks the 27th year with a 10+ winning season since 1981 for the 9ers

This Monday night, the 9ers get to take on the Indianapolis Colts. The 9ers dont have the best record against these guys, they've met a total of 46 times starting way back in 1950.

The Colts hold a 27-19 record against the 9ers. Lets see if we can change some of that this Monday night.
