After soaking your fingers or placing your feet into water for a while, they might get wrinkled like this:

main-qimg-1af7162720a5628cd109c012546be0f9

Why?

Some might say that’s due to being in water a long time, which makes our skin swollen. Before I also thought it was just a random accidental effect of the wetness.

But, have you ever wondered why this scene only occurs on the fingers and toes?

Why doesn’t it appear on the other parts of our body?

A scientific study did research on finding the reason that wet fingers and toes wrinkle.

The study showed that if you cut the nerves to the fingers and toes, the wrinkle phenomenon disappears, which proves the wrinkling is a self-directed act rather than a phenomenon caused by wetness.

Then why would our brain send the signal only to wrinkle the fingers and toes? The study made an F1 racing car tire analogy.

The smooth tire provides a superb grip under dry conditions; by contrast, the wrinkle tire gives better grip on wet ground. The wrinkles will construct a drainage network that will channel away the water on the surface and thereby maintain a firm grip.

Our body is truly still a big mystery to the entire human race…

Nice one. Post more such facts :clapping:

How humans suddenly began talking to each other!

Science has yet to explain how language evolved. What's most amazing about our ability with language is that since it's so commonplace, most of us take it for granted.

In more interesting terms, science can't explain how humans learnt to string elaborate series of sounds together, picking from an infinite set of possibilities, and constructing meaning, when cats can only meow and dogs can only bark. The most elaborate of animal communication systems are closed (finite set) and still much smaller as compared to what an average 4 year old human learns.

Theories that explain the evolution of language are classified as either being 'continuity theories' or 'discontinuity theories'. Continuity theories assume that languages evolved bit by bit starting from our primate ancestors. Discontinuity theories are based on a moment of inspiration, a gene trigger, that endowed humans with the faculty which later spread through breeding.

Linguist and philosopher Noam Chomsky proposes that "some random mutation took place, maybe after some strange cosmic ray shower, and it reorganized the brain, implanting a language organ in an otherwise primate brain."

There is no direct evidence that supports any explanation.

INTELLIGENCE EXPLAINED

While writing Principia Mathematica, Isaac Newton used to forget to eat, sleep and bathe. While painting, Michelangelo forgot to sleep for days.

Were these two intelligent? — They were geniuses.

But there are many people with high-intelligence who are losers. Why? Because they don’t tap into their potential.

Intellegence is a natural ability to acquire and apply knowledge. Despite your IQ score, learn to apply your potential which these geniuses did.

Here is the secret to unlocking your true potential.

Flow-State: It’s a state of enhanced performance and immense focus.

Artists, scientists, musicians, sportsmen enter this state and create magic. The greats are great because they have the ability to immerse themselves in their work.

How to get into flow? — Allow it by removing the blocks.

  1. Let go of the idea of discipline, struggle, effort for flow. The more you strive for flow, the further you move away from it.
  2. Let go of your expectations regarding your performance. Allow yourself to make mistakes.
Once you remove these, you will dissolve your ego and anxiety. You will tap into your potential.

The performance will over-flow instead of you squeezing for it.

Instead of aiming to increase your intelligence, tap into your existing potential

Gulper Eel :

Strangest looking animal that could directly be out of a folklore has to be a Gulper Eel. It looks something like this -

main-qimg-28ca5febd3c89a17e11fb089ccef6724

I guess the above image might be recreated but it is the best resemblance to an gulper eel.

This creature has been known to mankind for approximately 135 years but not much has been known about it as it lurks in the deep oceans. It is known to be a shape shifter i.e it can inflate and deflate as per it's own convenience.

It is known to have been feeding on small prey but looking at the jaw size on this thing, it can be rightly attributed that it can swallow bigger creatures as well.

As the Gulper eel lives in the deep oceans, it has stepped up in the evolutionary ladder by developing an ingenious way to hunt it's prey. It's tail is known to produce pink or red light which can attract small fish, it then moves it's glowing tail in front of it's mouth directly gulping it's prey.

They are believed to Semelparous i.e they die after reproducing. They are considered to be a species of no major threat.
