Favoured Frenzy
With tiny acts and the merest of things,
Often so much happiness and joy it brings,
When a man is down without strength or will,
When a patient lays there low and ill,
Someone with their head cupped in their hands,
Unable to face life’s harsh problems and demands,
When the path of life takes twists and turns,
Then harsh lessons often someone learns,
But a kind word and a cup of tea,
To spare some time not just charity,
Trying to belay their worries and their fears,
You may only have to loan them your ears,
They need a cuddle and make no demands,
What a lift you could bring just by holding their hands,
Help others who are admitting defeat,
To rise again standing on their own two feet,
To share a biscuit and a warming brew,
Is it that hard to give them an hour or two?,
For one day who actually really knows,
What life at you tomorrow throws?,
Be a true friend, a Samaritan or just really humane,
A small free act without a motive and not seeking gain,
When they realise life is not just doom and gloom,
And by helping you might just light up their room!,
