I don't know about others, for me it is religion. I have, over the years, found out that a well groomed beard is an indication to the female that we care for ourselves. This acts as an ice breaker too. A man who maintains himself commands respect. With the changing socio economic scenario and the plethora of resources available, it is but a passing fashion that has come to stay
