Hey guys , most of us would have learnt about sex - both right & wrong ways from the internet . Why is still talking about sex a taboo ? None of our parents taught us what safe sex is ? How to use a condom/ diaphragm ? How to tackle unwanted sexual approaches ? Why does our society refuse to talk about something that everyone of us literally does behind closed doors ? Do you think sex education can be a possibility in the future curriculum ?

Yes :

When with the changing world, everyone is adopting to the new techniques and fashion trends, why should sex education be denied in schools. People make a hype over sex education when in fact children seek all these information from various other sources. Instead of encouraging the children to opt for the information from the other sources that can misguide them, it is better to implement sex education in schools.

No :

The sex education can have a negative impact on the thought process of teenagers and they can be diverted from their main studies.
There is a time for everything, and sex knowledge should be given at the right time and for the right reasons..

Simply put. Our parents doesn't know about sex as much as we learn from the internet.

Perception of sex education has changed. Parents teachers teach good touch and bad touchs. Porn teach people how to touch. People themselves decide who needs to touch

So Sex Education has become life style. I feel class rooms are not required for that.

Sex education cannot have negative impact for teenagers. In fact it helps them to understand the importance of sex and how to value opposite gender. More over its helps to understand subtitle form of sexual abuses that they don't even know a sexual abuse.

I dont think there will be a negative impact - the curriculum will be designed in such a way that they are not over implicit and vulgar ! The time starts from adolescence when you get curious about the bodily changes ! That is the perfect time !

We do need sex education..before the society teach or show wrong impact on it if taught properly we could avoid most of the harrasments..Our generation parents or teachers hesitated even to talk about reproductive system in schools..That leads to improper knowledge
Yeah even our teachers were embarrassed to teach the reproductive system na ! They would just rush through it ! I never clearly understood the menstrual cycle till I finsihed school

Exactly..still most most of the boys even girls don't understand properly about menstrual cycle..I have been told by my mom Menstrual cycle helps in releasing bad blood from our body :Cwl: ..then how will guys know about it.. should hide everything much more.. atleast future generation should understand and behave properly

Exactly , these days women and men need to be taught on periods , hiding sanitary napkins in newspapers doesnt help !

1 Talking about sex is still a taboo only in the elderly age group or lets say in 40+ people. And it is due the social setting they were in as well as the technology not being advanced on their days to know about sex or share about sex. While the current generation or middle aged people and below have had a better exposure to sex ( comparatively ). We had good access to mobile phones and internet to explore about sex. Only rare people are shy to talk about sex these days. And being shy is not taboo.

2,3,4 Yes because our parents were neither taught about safe sex nor sex at all. They got to know only when they got to know. And Indian family setting used and in sineways still consider sex as something divine or holy. So we can't blame them. In the first place we should stop blaming others ( especially parents ) for not teaching us certain things. Coz now you have every knowledge at your fingertip. Browse it, read it, find what's appropriate and act.

5 I still believe having sex behind the doors is appropriate than having an orgy, right ?

And why do we want the society to talk about sex ? I don't want to live in a society where everyone talks about sex , sex jokes and all. And I don't want little children to hear much of sex words.

But then there should be healthy awareness about sex.

If you have some sexual problem, go meet a doctor like me. If it's something about someone sexually harassing you, file a complaint, share it with your friends and family for support. I don't think strangers advising me about sex is good for me.

6 Absolutely. Sex Education is possible and it will be there too someday. And that will make significant changes to the new generation. ( Still the 40+ age groups wouldn't be able to accept it no matter what ) And it is okay. We can never make a perfect social environment. Only we can improve the present scenarios and make it better.

sex education is thought in most of the countries during high school or collage inorder to give'm a safe sex because the teachers know the kids are stepping into that phase of life . where as in India we see that as a gray area ,embarrassed to speak about it openly but still we lead in global population . we are from the land of Kamasutra . sex education not only teach us how to play safe , but it also makes us to build a healthy society . there may be exceptions but still a teaching will help to make us thinks sex is just a phase of life and its not life during that age period.
Our next generation will do this teaching process , as we are grown up saying sex is a sin (not to laugh ) .
