A hush falls soft on summer’s cheek,
The cool breeze sings, so low, so meek.
It dances through the maple leaves,
And curls around the eaves and eaves.
It carries scents of distant rain,
Of mossy earth and quiet lane,
A gentle sigh from skies so wide,
A hush that makes the world subside.
It brushes skin with tender grace,
Like fingers ghosting on the face.
No words, and yet it seems to say:
“Breathe in. Let all your fears blow away.”
