Favoured Frenzy
Dear friend,
perhaps your words did not enter my heart
because they belonged to you,
but because they awakened
something that was already mine.
You called yourself the honey bee,
gently gathering nectar from my soul,
yet I believe you gathered only
what my heart had quietly preserved
for a kindred spirit to discover.
Your words did not create my sweetness.
They simply gave it a voice.
And if your poetry became a mirror,
then I thank you for holding it before me
with such tenderness,
allowing me to see within myself
what I might have overlooked.
There is something sacred
about being understood without possession,
admired without expectation,
and cherished without a demand.
Perhaps that is the beauty between us.
We ask nothing,
we claim nothing,
yet through poetry
we leave a little light in each other’s hearts.
And for that quiet, beautiful connection,
I remain sincerely grateful.
"Some souls do not come to possess our hearts,
they simply arrive to remind us
of the beauty already living there."
