Dhoni has been successful in all three formats of the game. There have been few players as devastating as him in T20 and ODI format, and he has been pretty good in Test matches as well. Don’t doubt it: the guy’s got a double century against Australia.

One life lesson which we all can learn from MS Dhoni and this is something I've hardly seen anyone talk about and it is how Dhoni has always been a great optimizer of whatever resources he's gotten. Let me shed some more light on what I just said, Dhoni always had a way to even make mediocre players perform well and that is a trait that got him so much success throughout his career. Let's take the example of Mohit Sharma who played so well under Dhoni at the CSK franchise but as soon as he went away from CSK, he never could replicate the same success with any other franchise or captain that he had under Dhoni.
