For me, sex in 2026 feels more fragmented than it used to be. On one side you have hyper-accessible digital options. On the other side, actual in-person sex with another human seems to carry more weight for a lot of people precisely because everything else is so available.
I think many are still chasing the same basic things: connection, validation, intensity, novelty. But the way we get there has split.

I would say, there are so many steps before sex. Getting affectionate to each other is important ... just holding hands, eye to eye contact, smiles etc. Prolonged affection moves into love which has emotional value more than physical touch ... caring, sharing experiences, feeling safe indicates its love. Even when sexual relationship starts .... romance, excitement followed by actual sex.

Thats real sexual relationship ... give it a name or not. But sex is just 5% of this journey.
