The Storm

[The Atlantean]

The sky grew darker as the rain fell heavily
Thunder rumbled as lightning flashed amongst the clouds
I stood underneath the streetlight as the rain poured

The neon signs lit up the dark as I walked through the quiet alley
The smell of pizza and chips filled the air as the thunder rumbled loudly
I sat by the window inside the chip shop and watched the rain smash against the ground

I ate my chips and drank my cola as the lightning flashed bright amongst the clouds
Time passed and the storm grew worse as I walked through the neon lit streets
A beautiful woman stood amongst the shadows and watched me pass by

Moments later she followed me through the darkest part of the town
She followed me closely then suddenly I stood still
The sound of her breathing behind me as I slowly turn around

I looked out of the corner of my eye as the rain fell harder
As I turned around the beautiful woman's brown eyes lit up as the lightning flashed
Her long hair was soaked from the rain , her mascara ran down her face

I took her hand and led her through the darkness
Her black leather coat flowed as the wind grew stronger
I held her closer as the storm raged on

Suddenly a mysterious fog appeared and enveloped me
The beautiful woman had vanished into the fog
Moments later I was back in the dark alley alone

Was the beautiful woman I met real or was it all a dream...
