Sometimes I wonder if the biggest problem is not love itself, but our ability to choose the right people. We spend so much time looking for someone who makes our heart race that we often forget to look for someone who will protect that heart. Feelings can be strong, but feelings alone cannot tell us who is truly right for us.
Maybe that is why so many beautiful relationships fall apart. It is not always because people stop loving each other. Sometimes they simply chose someone who was never meant to walk the same path with them. We learn to read books, solve problems, and build careers, but very few of us ever learn how to choose the right person to love.
If we all had that wisdom, perhaps there would be fewer broken hearts, fewer painful goodbyes, and fewer people wondering where everything went wrong. Love would still have its challenges, but it would not leave so many people carrying memories instead of a future. Sometimes, the greatest skill in life is not learning how to love someone. It is learning how to choose the person who is worth loving.
