As Elena travelled through field's and across a bridges the terrain began to become more rocky, she walked up a steep rocky path towards the mountain pass. As Elena walked slowly and looked around she saw some goats standing on some of the sloped side's of the mountain, the goats walked and slid a little down the side of the mountain towards a large ledge halfway down.
"I hope I don't trip and fall" said Elena as she squeezed herself across the narrow path in front of her, a few seconds or so later she had made it onto the wider path around the corner and continued walking. The wind had increased speed and strength and Elena quickly gripped onto the rock face beside her, she walked onwards for two hours as the wind continued to threaten her safety.
After walking a little longer she had reached a flat peak of the mountain and stood still for a moment to catch her breath. Elena grabbed her pouch and drank a little water as the cloud's blocked out the sunlight, a few moments later she took a little food out of her bag and it as the wind began to howl, after a few minutes she continued onwards and followed the next path that led down the other side of the mountain.
As Elena walked down the path for a few minutes and then suddenly stopped, "what was that?" Said Elena as she looked around. Elena couldn't see much through the mist but drew her sword incase there was something out there, moments later she heard the sound again as it echoed all around her, "where is that sound coming from?" Thought Elena, a few seconds later a burst of red light flashed in front of her.
Eros had returned with Elios by his side, Elena greeted them and then warned them that something was out there amongst the mist. "I do not see anything there" said Elios as he looked a little closer at the mist then drew his sword, "I cannot help you here, I must return to Olympus and speak with Zeus" said Eros, then within a matter of seconds Eros had vanished.
"I see something!" Said Elena as she pointed towards a shadow moving amongst the swirling mist in front of her, "I see it, but what is it?" Said Elios. Moments later a gryphon emerged from the mist and flew straight towards them and screeched loudly, "it's a gryphon!!" Said Elios, the gryphon swiped at Elios and Elena with it's large razor sharp talon's almost shredding their clothes and skin.
Elios and Elena grabbed their shield's and raised them up in front of them as the gryphon came around for another attack. The gryphon screeched loudly once again and clawed at their shield's trying to knock them off the mountainside, "this must be what Eros warned me about back at Thessaloniki" said Elena as she thrust her sword towards the gryphon's chest.
Her sword grazed against the gryphon's fur feather's and cut through it's skin, the gryphon screeched and went into a frenzy. It beat it's wings harder and faster as it clawed and pecked at Elios and Elena's shield's, Elios took a chance and swung his sword at the gryphon while it was exposed, Elios landed a lucky blow as his sword impaled the lower part of the gryphon's body.
Blood dripped from Elios's sword as he pulled it out of the gryphon, Elios slipped a little on the rocky ground and nearly fell asleep the gryphon clawed at his shield in a rage. A few moments later Elena saw her chance to strike and thrust her sword upwards through the air, a few seconds later her sword impaled the gryphon's jaw and head, the gryphon became silent and lifeless as it fell.
Elena quickly pulled her sword out of it's head and watched the body fall down down the mountainside and crash to the ground below. "You did it!" Said Elios as he put his sword and shield away, Elena put her shield and sword away and sighed in relief, "let us get away from here before something else comes for us" said Elena, Elios nodded in agreement and a few moments later they continued onwards down the path.
After another couple of hours Elena and Elios had reached the end of the path at the bottom of the mountain safely, "look over there!" Said Elios. "I see it" said Elena as they looked ahead of themselves, there in the distance was a lake with crumbling ruins surrounding it, "let us go there quickly" said Elena, Elios agreed and within several seconds they walked as fast as they could towards the lake in the distance.
