Elena travelled onwards towards the northwest as the cool wind brushed against her skin, after walking for an hour and a half she had reached a forest. She slowed down a little and entered the forest, as she walked through the forest she could hear the birds singing around her, suddenly a pair of squirrels ran past her and then up into a tree, the two squirrels fought over some food as Elena walked slower and watched.
She smiled and then began to walk faster through the forest, forty-five minutes later Elena had reached a clearing in the middle of the forest. I'm the middle of the clearing stood a marble statue of Artemis the goddess of the hunt and moon, she looked closely at the base of the statue and saw a flower beside it, "hmm it seems someone was here recently" said Elena.
A few moments later she sat down on the grass and decided to rest a little before journeying onwards, as she sat there on the vibrant green grass Elena heard a sound. She stood up quickly and drew her sword, "show yourself" said Elena as she held her sword firmly, the bushes amongst the trees began to rustle then suddenly a deer ran out towards her, Elena leapt out of the deers way and watched as it ran away.
"Hmm I wonder what scared that deer" said Elena, "it was most likely me..." Said a voice behind her, Elena jumped a little in surprise and quickly turned around. "Who are you?" She asked as she pointed her sword towards the man standing in front of her, "I am sorry if I frightened you, my name is Elios" said the man and then smiled at her, "my name is Elena" she said as she put her sword away.
"Was it you that placed the flower beside the statue of Artemis?" Asked Elena, "yes that was me, I thought I'd placed one there on my way through the forest" said Elios. "I am on a journey of my own" said Elena, "maybe we should travel together, where are you headed to?" Asked Elios, "I'm heading northwest" said Elena, "I'm heading in the same direction, Thessaloniki is a long walk from here" said Elios.
"How long?" Elena asked, "hmm maybe half a day" said Elios, "I have walked far already, I suppose someone to talk to would be good" said Elena. "Then it is settled, we shall travel together" said Elios, a few moments later they walked onwards through the forest towards the other side, forty-five minutes later they had finally reached the other side of the forest walked out.
"Look there is a small village over there in the valley" said Elios as he pointed ahead, "let us go there!" Said Elena excitedly. They walked down the path towards the village as fast as they could and passed through a large field of flowers, about ten minutes later they had finally reached the village and saw a beautiful fountain in the village square, they walked over towards the fountain and stood beside it then looked closely.
The fountain was decorated with gold and blue paint and glimmered in the sunlight, "it's beautiful!" Said Elena as she watched the water trickling down the center. "I'm hungry let us go eat something" said Elios, for the next couple of hours Elena and Elios had spent some time eating, drinking and resting before their next part of their journey, then suddenly a large shadow had appeared over the village.
"Why has it got darker" said Elios, "look!, a Cyclops!" Said Elena, a moment later Elios and Elena drew their swords and prepared themselves for battle.
