As Elena stood beside her tent looking around at the darkness she heard the sound once again, "show yourself!" Said Elena as she gripped her sword firmly. A few moments later a lion appeared in front of her and roared, Elena backed away slowly and prepared to defend herself, just as the lion was about to attack her, a large man tackled the lion to the ground and wrestled it.
"What!?, who would dare fight a lion with their bare hands?" Thought Elena as she watched the man and the lion wrestle each other. The lion swiped it's razor sharp claws at the man almost clawing his eyes out, "is that the best you can do beast!!" Said the man as he stood up and then grabbed the lion and lifted it above his head, "who is that man??" Thought Elena as the man began to spin the lion around above himself.
Moments later the man slammed the lion into the ground and then lifted it back up again and spun it around above his head once more. Seconds later the man threw the lion through the air and watched as it crashed into the river, a couple of minutes later the now soaking wet lion got up and then ran away into the darkness as Elena sighed in relief and put her sword back into her tent.
"Who are you?" Asked Elena, the man slowly turned around and smiled at her then said "I am Hercules!", "thank you for getting rid of that lion" said Elena. "It was no trouble, I enjoyed it!" Said Hercules as he flexed his muscles a little, "what are you doing around here?" Elena asked, "I am travelling to Knossos" said Hercules, "I am heading in the same direction! Said Elena.
"Hmm then we shall travel together!" Said Hercules, "I would like that but first we must rest" said Elena, a few moments later Hercules found a soft patch of grass and put his bag down then layed on the ground. Hercules rested his head on his bag as Elena went back inside her tent and lay down, a few minutes later Elena and Hercules drifted off to sleep as the wind calmed down a little.
The next morning...
Elena had already ate breakfast and packed her tent away earlier that morning and now travelled onwards with Hercules towards Knossos. "It shall not take long to reach Knossos" said Hercules as he and Elena walked through an olive tree orchard, after walking for twelve minutes they could see Knossos ahead of them, "ah Knossos!, we are almost there!" Said Hercules as the sun shone bright in the clear blue sky.
Several minutes later they had reached the city gates and stopped for a moment as they heard screams fill the streets, "what is going on here!!" Said Hercules. Elena and Hercules drew their sword's and rushed into the city and looked around, moments later they saw people being turned to stone right in front of them, "a Gorgon!!, don't look at her face!" Said Hercules.
The Gorgon turned her head and saw Hercules and Elena standing there then hissed loudly and moved towards them, Hercules and Elena avoided looking at her and moved quickly. They moved around the once living people that were now turned to stone by the Gorgon and swung their swords through the air, the Gorgon moved fast dodging their attacks and then swung her tail towards them.
Elena and Hercules ducked and rolled out of the way and the Gorgon's tail smashed through the stone people shattering them into pieces. "Remember, do not look at her face!" Said Hercules as he and Elena stood up, they stood back to back so the Gorgon couldn't take them by surprise and awaited for the next attack, "look at me..." Said the Gorgon as she tried to get their attention.
"Close your eyes" said Hercules as he closed his eyes, Elena closed her eyes as the Gorgon continued to speak to them, "look at me...I know you want to see.." said the Gorgon as she moved a little closer towards them.
