The dawn pulls back the veil of sleep,
the quiet dark gives way to gray,
as gears begin their steady sweep
to start another working day.
The coffee steams, the engines hum,
the city shakes the lingering rust;
we step into the days to come
and turn our focus into dust.
Do not resent the heavy start,
nor fear the weight the week will bring
it takes a firm and grounded heart
to set momentum on its wing.
So take the step and cross the line,
and let the quiet fire grow;
the strongest iron takes its sign
when first it meets the anvil’s blow.
