Serena had been working at Rosewood manor for a week now without anymore strange happenings and has gotten used to her duties. "Ah there you Serena, have you finished cleaning?" Asked Lady Verity, "yes Lady Rosewood, I was just preparing this evening's meal" said Serena, "very well I shall let you continue" said Lady Verity as Serena cut some vegetables.
Meanwhile, Lord Henry was outside in the garden walking towards the private house, after a few moments or so he went inside and looked around for his sketchbook. "Where is that blasted sketchbook!" thought Lord Henry as he searched his desk and bookshelf, Lord Henry went down the hallway and entered Serena's room and searched the shelves in there, "hmm nothing here, where did I leave it" wondered Lord Henry.
Twenty minutes later Serena had finished preparing the evening's meal and started cooking as Lady Verity sat in the dining room and read her book. A short time later the smell of food filled the house with a delicious aroma, Lady Verity could smell the food from the dining room and assumed the evening meal was almost ready, a few minutes later Serena entered the dining room and placed the food upon the table.
"Have you seen Lord Henry?" Asked Lady Verity, "no I have not Lady Rosewood" said Serena, "hmm once you finished near would you please find him and tell him the meal is ready" said Lady Verity. "Of course Lady Rosewood" said Serena, after a few minutes or so Serena had finished laying everything out onto the table and then searched for Lord Henry, she checked every room in the manor and then decided to check the grounds outside.
Meanwhile in the private house Lord Henry was still searching for his sketchbook, "I know it is here somewhere!" Thought Lord Henry as he searched the store room. Moments later Serena entered the private house and found Lord Henry looking for his sketchbook, "ah Lord Rosewood there you are" said Serena, Lord Henry turned around almost startled and greeted Serena.
"Lady Rosewood sent me to tell you the evening meal is ready" said Serena, "ah thank you Miss Thorn, I mean Serena" said Lord Henry. "What are you doing sir?" Asked Serena, "I am searching for my sketchbook" said Lord Henry, Serena looked around the room and then picked up a book with dried paint on it, "you mean this book?" Said Serena, "yes!, thank you Serena" said Lord Henry.
"Lady Rosewood is expecting you sir" said Serena, a few moments later Lord Henry left the private house and went back to the manor as Serena went to her room. "Hmm is seems like he searched everywhere for his sketchbook, even my room" thought Serena as she tidied things up, as Lord Henry walked through the garden he heard a strange sound, "who is there?" He said.
Then suddenly it became silent again as the moonlight shone in the dark night sky, Lord Henry walked back inside the manor and then went to the dining room. When he entered the dining room he discovered that Lady Verity was not there waiting for him, "hmm I wonder where Verity went?" Said Lord Henry, meanwhile outside Lady Verity was petting and feeding her horse.
Moments later she heard a sound, the sound of horse hooves clip clopping against stone, Lady Verity slowly turned around and saw Doctor Tremas standing there. "Oh it is just you Doctor!" Said Lady Verity, "who were you expecting?" Said Doctor Tremas, "oh nobody just the night playing tricks on me" said Lady Verity, "let us hope that is all it is" said Doctor Tremas.
"Lord Henry is probably inside eating the evening meal" said Lady Verity, a moment later Doctor Tremas nodded and then went inside the manor to join Lord Henry. It remained quiet sor several minutes and then Lady Verity heard the sound of horses hooves clip clopping once again, "is that you Doctor Tremas?" Said Lady Verity as she slowly turned around.
Then suddenly her eyes widened and just as she was about to scream Lady Verity blacked out, "what was that!?" Said Doctor Tremas. "It sounded like a scream, let us go outside now" said Lord Henry, a matter of moments later Lord Henry and Doctor Tremas found Lady Verity laying on the ground next to the horse, "what is happening?" Said Serena as she appeared from the shadows.
"I do not know, we heard a scream and then found Lady Verity" said Lord Henry, "help me carry her inside Lord Henry" said Doctor Tremas. Serena followed them and a matter of moments later they were upstairs in Lord and Lady Rosewood's bedroom, Doctor Tremas placed Lady Verity on the bed and then examined her, " she seems to be alright Lord Henry, just unconscious" said Doctor Tremas.
A few minutes later Lady Verity regained consciousness and held her head, "ugh what happened.." she said, "we heard a scream and then found you laying on the ground outside" said Lord Henry. "Are you alright Lady Rosewood?" Asked Doctor Tremas, "yes I am alright thank you Doctor" said Lady Verity, "what happened out there before you passed out?" Asked Lord Henry.
"I... I am not sure...no wait it was him!" Said Lady Verity, "who did you see?" Asked Doctor Tremas, "yes who was it?" Asked Lord Henry. "It was the headless horseman!" Said Lady Verity, Lord Henry, Doctor Tremas and Serena looked at each other in surprise as Lady Verity took a sip of water and lifted the blanket over her chest, "hmm that is twice the headless horseman has appeared now" said Lord Henry.
"I must go now but I shall be back soon Lord Henry.." said Doctor Tremas as Lord Henry held Lady Verity's hand, "I have a feeling the headless horseman may return again" said Lord Henry. "I am sure there is nothing to worry about Lord Rosewood, maybe it won't come back again" said Serena as she stood up and walked towards the bedroom door, Lord Henry stayed silent and stayed with Lady Verity as Serena left the room and then headed to the private house.
