October 19th 1908, 13:30 pm..
The steam train sped down the iron track's and through the countryside as dark clouds began to gather, on board the steam train is a woman named Serena. Her blonde hair shimmered like gold and her blue eyes sparkled like the sea, Serena was travelling to her new workplace in a sleepy village called Nightingale Hollow, she would also be living there for the foreseeable future.
She had been hired as a maid by the lady of Rosewood manor, Lady Verity Rosewood's previous maid had retired and she was in need of a new one, of course Serena was happy to help out. It was now 16:15 pm and the steam train had finally arrived at the station and Serena stepped onto the platform, the train station was only small as not many people visited Nightingale Hollow because of how far into the countryside it was.
However, Serena still had further to go as Rosewood manor wasn't that close to the train station, a man at the train station offered to help Serena with her luggage and take her to the manor. Her luggage was placed inside the horse carriage and then she climbed inside, a few moments later she was on her way to Rosewood manor as the horse carriage travelled at a steady speed.
Fifteen minutes later, 16:30 pm..
The horse carriage had finally arrived at Rosewood manor, Serena climbed out of the carriage and the man handed Serena her luggage. She thanked the man and walked towards the front door of the manor, the sun had already begun to set as Serena knocked on the door, she stood there and waited for someone to answer the door as the colourful autumn leaves floated across the ground in the wind.
After a minute or so the front door had opened, "hello is someone there?" Said Serena, then a moment later a woman appeared in front of her. Her hair brown and her eyes green and her skin pale as she stood there, "ah you must be Serena our new maid" said the woman, "yes, I hope I am not late" said Serena, "not at all, I am Lady Verity Rosewood, welcome to Rosewood manor please come inside" said Lady Rosewood.
Something seemed a little odd about Rosewood manor that Serena couldn't quite put her finger on, Lady Rosewood showed Serena around the manor and told her what duties she would need to perform. Around thirty minutes later Serena had seen all of the room's and Lady Rosewood had told her everything that she needed to know, a few minutes later a man entered the manor.
"Ah there you are, this is my husband Lord Henry Rosewood" said Verity, "pleased to meet you miss, what is your name" said Lord Henry. "My name is Serena Thorn, Lady Rosewood hired me as your new maid" said Serena, "welcome to Rosewood manor Miss Thorn" said Lord Henry, "Serena you shall be staying in the private house at the edge of the garden over there" said Lady Rosewood as she pointed towards the window beside her.
"I use the private house to create my art, it is peaceful there" said Lord Henry, "you shall settle in in no time Serena" said Lady Rosewood. Twenty minutes later Serena was in the private house and had just finished unpacking her belongings in her room, as it was her first day there at Rosewood manor, Lord and Lady Rosewood had decided to let her start her work in the morning instead.
Four hours later, 21:20 pm...
Serena was in the bathroom relaxing as she bathed herself, whilst Serena bathed herself Lord Henry had entered the private house to look at his art collection. As Lord Henry searched through the canvas's for his favourite piece of artwork he saw candlelight down the hallway, "hmm where is that light coming from" he thought as he walked towards the hallway.
He walked towards the bathroom and then slowly pushed the door open, Serena screamed a little and said, "Lord Henry!, you scared me". "I am sorry I didn't mean to scare you Miss Thorn" said Lord Henry as he quickly turned around and exited the bathroom, "it is quite alright Lord Henry" said Serena as she returned to bathing herself, "I was here to look through my artwork and saw candlelight, I shall leave you to bathe Miss Thorn" said Lord Henry.
Lord Henry went outside and then leaned against the wall of the private house and took a deep breath, "well that was quite embarrassing, I should just collect my artwork quickly and then leave" said Lord Henry. He went back inside the private house and quickly and quietly grabbed his artwork, then suddenly he could hear Serena singing to herself as she bathed.
Serena had the voice of a siren, beautiful and alluring maybe even entrancing, "I really must take my artwork and go back to the manor" thought Lord Henry. However Lord Henry's curiosity got the better of him as he listened to Serena's beautiful singing..
