The Lie Called Spirituality

They told people
"You are not enough.
You must become something better."
So, they gave them words like
"Awakening," "freedom," "inner peace," "divine self."

But people still felt pain.
They still got hungry.
They still cried when they were alone.

They said,
"Hunger is fasting."
"Desire is ego."
"Pain is just an illusion."
But it all still hurt.

They told people to rise above,
To let go, to be spiritual.
But the body kept needing,
And the heart kept breaking.

No dog tries to be spiritual.
No tree tries to be free.
Only humans run from what is.

Spirituality is not truth.
It is a word created to escape life.
It promises light,
But blinds you from life.
