A short time later Sam and Vanessa had arrived at the library and began searching through the history section , "hmm it has to be here somewhere" said Sam. "Have you found anything yet?" Asked Vanessa , "not yet" said Sam as he looked at row after row of history books , "I think I found something" said Vanessa as she took a book off the lower shelf , a few moments later they sat down at a table and opened the book.
"Find anything useful?" Asked Sam , "hmm not yet" said Vanessa as she flicked through the pages , then suddenly she found something. "Here it is! , the crystal of Kastyria" said Vanessa as she held the pages still ,"what does it say?" Said Sam , "it says the crystal was hidden in a safe place to stop so it wouldn't fall into the wrong hands" said Vanessa as she continued to read.
"Does it say where it was moved to?" Asked Sam , "hmm the location is written in ancient Kastyrian , fortunately I'm able to translate it" said Vanessa. While Sam and Vanessa continued their research as someone was listening and watching them , "I have a feeling were being watched" whispered Sam as he looked around a little , "I know where we have to go to find the crystal" whispered Vanessa.
A few moments later they got up and put the book back on the shelf and then walked away , the person that was watching them began to follow as Sam and Vanessa left the library. "So which way are we going" said Sam , "that way towards the hill" said Vanessa as she pointed towards the east side of Kastyria , they walked through the dimly lit streets as the person continued to follow them.
"Were being followed" whispered Sam as the moonlight glowed in the clear night sky , Sam and Vanessa picked up the pace and walked faster towards the east side of Kastyria. A few moments later they turned into a dark alley and concealed themselves amongst the shadows , Sam slowly and quietly drew his sword and gripped it firmly , a moment later the person following them entered the alley.
"Where'd they go , they couldn't have just disappeared" said the man , suddenly Sam leapt out of the shadows and pinned the man against the wall and held his sword against the man's throat. "Who are you and why are you following us!" Said Sam as the cold steel blade of his sword pressed into the man's throat , "I...I am Thalta" said the man as Vanessa emerged from the shadows.
"What are you up to?" Asked Vanessa , "I'm responsible for protecting the crystal of Kastyria" said Thalta , "is that so , you're not very good at following people are you" said Sam. "Why are you looking for the crystal?" Asked Thalta , "we caught someone trying to steal an artifact that had ancient Kastyrian symbols on it" said Vanessa , "we assumed the thief wanted to steal the crystal but he was...dealt with.." said Sam.
Sam put his sword away and moved back a little , "you suspect others are trying to steal the crystal?" Asked Thalta , "it seems like it yes" said Vanessa. "I may be the crystals protector but I don't know where it is , I couldn't read the ancient Kastyrian symbols" said Thalta , "it's ok , we know where the crystal is hidden" said Sam , "let's go find it before someone else does" said Thalta.
A few moments later Sam , Vanessa and Thalta left the dark alley and walked onwards through Kastyria and towards the hills toward the east. Ten minutes later they had arrived at some ruins upon a large hill , "were here , the crystal is hidden around here somewhere" said Vanessa , a few moments later they began to look around the ruins but eventually they found nothing.
"It must be here somewhere" said Thalta , "hmm we must have missed something" said Sam as Vanessa stood on a flat stone. Suddenly her foot sank down a little and a large stone in the middle of the ruins began to move , "I must have stood on a hidden switch" said Vanessa as the large stone unveiled some stairs leading down into a tunnel , "looks like were going to have to go underground" said Sam.
A few moments later Sam , Vanessa and Thalta walked over to the secret entrance and made their descent down the stairs and into the tunnel.
