The day lays down its golden crown,
the night has not yet claimed the air,
as purple shadows settle down
and linger softly everywhere.
It is the hour of muted gray,
where harsh and soft begin to blend
a quiet bridge from yesterday
to where the stars at last descend.
You do not have to choose a side,
nor force the dusk to turn to night;
there is a peace that learns to hide
between the darkness and the light.
So pause within the twilight glow,
and let the blurring colors stay;
the gentlest truths are those we know
when day is done, but night’s away.
