The Drizzle That Never Stayed...
I was born of Spring
all tender greens
carrying within me the pulse of True Love
for only one season
my Rain...
Rain was playful, ruthless
never drenching me whole
only scattering drizzles
teasing, vanishing into clouds
leaving me with longing
and the ache of half promises...
One day, he promised to stay
to pour his love on my fields
to hold me forever
but the sky broke its vow
a storm of betrayal
and Spring wept
her grief roaring like thunder
She burned herself into ash,
yet Summer stood strong beside her,
guarding the seed pods of her heart
whispering
rest now,
your time will return...
So I listened,
the world kept moving
seasons passed,
until I rose once more
alive again,
Green from Summer’s patient keeping...
And again, Rain returned
with a drizzle, a call
but I stood still,
my heart no longer blind,
for I now know...
Rain will never be mine alone,
dreaming of him is pain,
trust is no gift of his,
he may try to pull me close
but now,
I resist
I endure
I remain Spring...
