Location: Delta Base 1, The Alyria Galaxy
Mission: Deep Space Mining Operation
Captain's Diary Entry 1: We have been here for almost a week now on this uninhabitable moon called Korsair and everything is going well. The drill is operating well and hopefully we will have results soon, however the crew and I are still feeling uneasy knowing that somehow the moon is in orbit around the black sun, some people call it a black hole but we thought calling it a black sun sounded cooler. End of Diary Entry...
"Come on people let's get a move on, we need to finish organising things" said Captain Axis Cross, "yes sir, I'll put the specialist equipment into the storage room" said Jack Crane the medic. The base light's flickered and the ground shook a little, "someone sort those light's out" said Captain Cross, "I'm on it!" Said Alyssia Volt the engineer, "alright you two come here" said Captain Cross.
A moment later Sam Krystal the security officer and Vanessa Waters the pilot walked up to the Captain, "I want both of you to check the drills progress and monitor it" said Captain Cross. "Yes sir" said Sam and Vanessa, "I'll head back to the control room" thought Captain Cross as everyone continued to work, moments later Sam and Vanessa entered the drill room and started to check on things.
"The drill is in perfect working order" said Sam as he inspected it, "the stats on the computer are normal" said Vanessa as she read through them. Then suddenly the ground shook a little once again, "ugh I'll never get used to the tremors.." said Sam, "well we knew the risks when we came here, hopefully this mission won't be a long one" said Vanessa as she placed her hand on Sam's shoulder.
Meanwhile in the storage room Jack was organising the containers, "help me out here please" said Jack as Doctor Harmony Quinn the archaeologist walked towards him. A moment later Harmony began to help Jack sort out the containers that were full of specialist equipment and secured them, "thank you Doctor Quinn" said Jack as they exited the storage room.
Later that day, 21:00 pm...
Jack Crane was walking through the base's corridors as the metal structure creaked all around him, "I hope this base can stay in one piece" thought Jack as he held onto a rail. A few moments later he looked through the window beside him and stared at the black sun, "how is this moon not being pulled in by the extreme gravitational force??" Said Jack as he continued to look outside.
"Jack...." Whispered a voice, "who's there?" Said Jack as he turned around wondering who was talking to him, when he turned around there was nobody there. "Jack.... don't turn around.." whispered the voice, Jack turned his head a little as the voice continued to whisper to him, "don't turn around or you will die.." whispered the voice, "ok who's there?, you can stop playing tricks on me now" said Jack.
"Don't turn around before I can touch you, if you turn around you will die..." Whispered the voice, Jack grew more and more anxious almost paralyzed with fear. "Don't look at me...I'm reaching out to you Jack...I'm almost there..." Whispered the voice, Jack couldn't stay still anymore and turned around, he looked around but there was nobody and nothing there.
Sweat dripped from his forehead a little, Jack turned around to face the window and then saw his reflection, suddenly Jack began to panic. He had symbols on his face and his eyes red the colour of blood, "what is happening to me..." Said Jack as he tried to rub the symbols off his face, moments later Jack grabbed his head in pain and then fell to his knees, after a matter of seconds Jack blacked out.
A short time later Alyssia had found Jack laying in the corridor and took him to the medical bay, "ugh where am I?" Mumbled Jack. "You're in the medical bay, it's fortunate I know basic medical training" said Alyssia as the rest of the base's crew entered the room, "what happened?" Asked Captain Cross as he folded his arms, "Harmony and I had finished putting the containers away into the storage room and then I went for a walk around the base" said Jack.
"Hmm go on" said Captain Cross, "it's kind of a blur after that but...I remember someone was talking to me but there was nobody there then I must have blacked out" said Jack. "Hmm ok, get some rest Jack" said Captain Cross, a moment later a monitor screen flickered and an image appeared on it, "what the hell was that!?" Said Jack, "what was what?" Asked Sam.
"There was something on the monitor there, just for a few seconds..." Said Jack, "hmm well there's nothing there now" said Vanessa as she looked at the monitor. "I swear I saw something..." Said Jack as he held his head, "I think you just need some sleep it's been a busy day" said Harmony, "yeah I've probably worked to hard or something.." said Jack as he lay back on the bed.
Three week's later...
Captain's Diary Entry 2: The moon continues to shake on and off a little as usual but other than that everything seemed normal. Jack seems to be doing ok since the incident a few week's ago but I'll keep an eye on him just to make sure, our science officer Zari Al-Kalal has been keeping to herself examining the mineral's and metal's we have discovered from our drilling, the results seem promising. Science Officer Al-Kalal's Diary Entry 1: These mineral's and metal's we have discovered are very interesting, some of the piece's of metal indicate that there may have been life here on this moon we call Korsair. As for the mineral's they are very unusual.
Engineer Volt's Diary Entry 1: I fixed the pipes and checked the life support systems and everything seems to be in perfect working order. I also checked the lighting systems and nothing is wrong so I don't know why there's damn lights keep flickering on and off every so often, maybe it's just the black sun interfering with our systems.
Meanwhile in the laboratory Doctor Harmony Quinn was examining recent finds that she had dug up from the moons surface. "Hmm interesting, very interesting, there was definitely life in this planet, a very long time ago...maybe a hundred thousand years ago if I haven't made an error" said Harmony as she looked very closely at the test results she did earlier.
Elsewhere Sam and Vanessa were in the ship the crew had arrived on checking the systems whilst Jack was alone in his sleeping quarters resting. Jack became restless and his body began to shake, then suddenly he awoke, his face covered in symbols and his eyes red once again as he got up and began to roam the corridors.
