A short time later...
Sam and Vanessa stood in the canteen and waited for the countdown to new year's to begin, "it's almost here" said Vanessa as Sam took a sip of juice. The clock had almost reached midnight as Vanessa took Sam's hand and held it, she waited excitedly for the countdown to start as Sam took another sip of his drink, "here we go!" Said Vanessa as the clock reached the mark.
"10..9..8..7..6.." said Vanessa as she watched the clock ticking away, "5..4..3..2..1" said Sam, then as the clock struck midnight they said "happy new year!". Then without warning Vanessa grabbed Sam then pulled him close and kissed him, time felt like it had frozen as Sam and Vanessa stood there beside the window as glowing fish swam past as they kissed, the clock continued to tick as they continued to kiss each other.
A few minutes later they stopped kissing and just stood there gazing into each others eyes, Sam brushed her hair away from her eye as she smiled at him. "That was...unexpected.." said Sam as he held Vanessa close, "it was amazing" said Vanessa as her heart beat faster, "I think that's enough excitement for one day, we need to rest, the delivery is arriving tomorrow" said Sam.
"Yes of course, I'm still hoping they are going to send something good" said Vanessa, a few minutes later Sam and Vanessa left the canteen and went to their sleeping quarters to get some rest. After they changed into their nightwear Sam and Vanessa lay on their beds and thought about their eventful day, one thing was for sure is they wouldn't forget their kiss anytime soon.
Moments later they had fallen asleep listening to the gentle humming sound of the base's machinery.
The next morning...
It's 1st January 2913 and Sam and Vanessa were awoken by a sound, they quickly showered and dressed themselves then headed towards the control room. "Vehicle approaching" said the computer, "our supplies are here!" Said Vanessa excitedly, "let's go get them" said Sam, a moment later Sam and Vanessa ran through the base's corridors and headed towards the delivery airlock.
Just as they arrived at the delivery air lock the vehicle had docked with the base, "vehicle and air lock secured" said the computer. The vehicle and air lock doors opened, "good morning, here are your supplies" said a woman as she smiled at them, "thank you, umm what's your name?" Said Sam, "I'm Aletta, nice to meet you" said the woman as she handed the supplies to them.
Her hair as black as night and her blue eyes bright like the sky, "I can't hang around I have to get back as fast as I can" said Aletta. "It was nice meeting you" said Vanessa. "There's enough supplies here to last until someone can take you home" said Aletta, "thanks for letting us know" said Sam as he and Vanessa stacked the crates beside the door, "ok that's everything, I have to get back now" said Aletta.
A few moments later Sam and Vanessa said their goodbyes to Aletta and closed the air lock door, a couple of minutes later Aletta had gone and drove back towards the surface. "Well then, let's put all our supplies in the canteen" said Sam as he picked up a couple of crates, "let's go" said Vanessa as she picked up a crate,
Half an hour or so later...
Sam and Vanessa finished moving all of the supply crates into the canteen and started opening them, "my favourite drinks!" Said Vanessa as she opened a crate. "Look here, Greek food and desserts!" Said Sam, they continued to open the crates and found some item's packed inside, "look there's some delta disc's in here with movies on them" said Sam, "now we have something new to watch instead of the old movies" said Vanessa.
Sam and Vanessa emptied all of the crates and put the food away into the cupboards, fridges and freezers, later that morning they took the other items to their rooms and placed them on their tables. Then suddenly the alarm went off, "RED ALERT FAULT DETECTED IN THE POWER ROOM" said the computer, "ugh not again" said Sam, a few moments later Sam grabbed some new part's and met Vanessa in the power room.
"Ok let's replace these old part's with these advanced one's" said Sam as he and Vanessa sat on the floor and began to work.
