Sam opened the door and the air lock room flooded, a moment Sam and Vanessa swam out of the air lock and into the sea. "Will this laser gun work underwater?" Asked Vanessa, "yes I made sure to test it out here when I received it" said Sam as they swam around the base, as they swam around the east side of the base they saw a faint light amongst the darkness.
Sam and Vanessa drew their guns and aimed them as they swam a little closer, then suddenly a woman with glowing green eyes burst out of the darkness. "It's Commander Georgiou!!, open fire!" said Sam, a second later he and Vanessa opened fire and shot at the infected possessed body of Commander Georgiou, photon bullet's sliced through the sea water and hit the Commander in the chest.
Vanessa's laser hit the Commander in the abdomen, the infected and possessed Commander screamed in a disturbing tone and then burst into nothingness. "That was easy" said Vanessa, "yes, to easy like before..." Said Sam, "what're you saying?" Vanessa asked, "I'm saying whatever infected and possessed our former friends and crew is still out here somewhere" said Sam.
"I feel like something is watching us" said Vanessa as she swam behind Sam and looked around, "stay close to me, I don't want you ending up meeting the same fate as the others" said Sam. Vanessa and Sam continued to swim around the base as they looked for anything unusual, "hmm everything looks fine, I don't see anything unusual" said Sam, "me neither, let's get back inside the base" said Vanessa.
"Agreed" said Sam, a moment later they swam back around the base and towards the air lock, just as they were about to enter the air lock a disturbing sound came from the dark depths of the abyss. "What's that!?" Said Vanessa, "I don't know but I suspect it's what infected and possessed our friends" said Sam as he and Vanessa pointed their guns towards the dark abyss ahead of them.
Moments later they saw a large pair of glowing green eyes appear in the darkness in front of them, "open fire!!" Said Sam. Vanessa and Sam fired their weapons and watched as the photon bullet's and laser blasts sliced through the water towards the creature that stood in the darkness, a few seconds later the creature unleashed a disturbing soul shivering roar.
"Our weapons didn't do a thing" said Vanessa, "yes they did, they made it angrier, quickly get into the air lock!" Said Sam. A few seconds later they had entered the air lock and sealed the door shut tight, the water drained out of the air lock room and Sam and Vanessa took their diving equipment and suits off, "computer activate sanctuary base shield's" said Sam, a matter of seconds later, the sanctuary bases shield's began to activate, "shield's activated" said the computer.
"Are the shield's strong enough?" Asked Vanessa, "I hope so" said Sam as the creature outside emerged from the dark depths of the abyss and headed towards the base. Within a few minutes then base shook a little, "RED ALERT SANCTUARY BASE UNDER ATTACK" said the computer, "computer activate the exterior flood light's said Sam, a few seconds later the exterior flood light's came on and shone bright like the sun, "ROOOARRR", the creature roared and backed away towards the darkness and away from the flood light's.
"Look it's moving back!" Said Vanessa excitedly, "don't celebrate to soon, who knows what that thing is capable of" said Sam. After the creature reached the darkness it roared again as it's green eyes glowed even brighter, "what's it doing?" Said Vanessa, "I don't know, hold onto something" said Sam, Vanessa and Sam held onto some metal railing as the monster fired something at the base.
The base shook as dark spirals of some kind of energy hit the bases shield's, "shield's holding at 90 percent" said the computer. Then moments later an even larger blast of energy hit the shield's, "shield's down to 67 percent" said the computer, we have to do something!" Said Vanessa, Sam became silent for a moment as he tried to think of something, "come on there must be something we can do" said Vanessa.
"I've got it!, computer activate the Typhon cannons" said Sam, the Typhon cannons on the bases exterior walls began to emerge. "Typhon cannons activated, target locked" said the computer, "FIRE!!" Said Sam and Vanessa, moments later the Typhon cannons unleashed a hail of magnavolt blast's towards the creature, seconds later the creature roared as the magnavolt blast's hit it hard.
The Typhon cannons continued to unleash hell upon the creature as the shots turned into rapid fire, the creatures body began to glow and swell as green light emerged from it. "It's going to blow!" Said Sam, "computer divert power from hydroponics bay to the shield's" said Vanessa, the bases shield's increased power as the creature was about to explode, seconds later "BOOOM!".
The creatures body exploded with force sending a huge shockwave towards the base, the creature's body had burst into nothingness as the shockwave hit the base. The entire bases shook as the shield's remained strong, then suddenly everything had gone quiet, "shield's holding at 87 percent" said the computer, "is it over?" Said Vanessa, as Sam looked out of the window.
"It's over, whatever it is it's dead" said Sam, let's get back to the control room" said Vanessa, "computer deactivate the flood light's and shield's" said Sam. A few minutes or so later Sam and Vanessa had arrived in the control room to discover they had received a message from the people in charge on the surface, "there's a message from our people on the surface" said Vanessa.
"What do they want?, is it about someone coming to take us home?" Asked Sam, "well do you want the good news or the bad news first" said Vanessa. "The bad news first" said Sam, "they can't send someone to take us home for a while" said Vanessa, "a while, how long?" Asked Sam, "nearly a year..." Said Vanessa, "what!?, why?" Said Sam angrily, "they said they're having trouble getting the advanced equipment they need" said Vanessa.
"Hmm, ok what's the good news?" Asked Sam, "well the good news is..." said Vanessa, "What is it?" Asked Sam, "they're able to send us some supplies tomorrow to help" said Vanessa, "that's good, I hope there's something good amongst the supplies" said Sam. "Me too" said Vanessa, "so it's just the two of us all alone down here in the abyss for nearly a year" said Sam, "yes, I'm sure we can think of ways to pass the time..." Said Vanessa as she smiled at him.
"Yes I'm sure we could, for now let's get a little rest before the new year countdown" said Sam as they left the control room and headed towards the community room.
