Sam and Vanessa began to eat their holiday meal as music played throughout the base, "again, thank you for the presents" said Vanessa as Sam chewed on some roasted turkey. "I'm glad you like them" said Sam as Vanessa as she ate some vegetables, "what shall we do after dinner?" Asked Sam, "hmm we should play something in the game's room" said Vanessa.
"Good idea, game's it is then" said Sam as he smiled at her, Sam and Vanessa continued to eat their holiday dinner for the next half an hour until they had enough. "Still have room for dessert?" Asked Sam, "maybe some fruit" said Vanessa, a few moments later Sam brought her a bowl of fruits, "here you go, gave you some mixed fruits" said Sam as he placed the bowl onto the table.
Vanessa thanked him as he went to get his own dessert, a few moments later Sam sat down and placed his dessert onto the table. "What have you got there?" Vanessa asked him, "oh just some holiday cake, it's a fruitcake with icing on top" said Sam as he pushed his spoon into the cake, "it looks good" said Vanessa as Sam ate some of his cake, "it tastes good too" said Sam.
Twenty minutes later...
Sam and Vanessa had finished their dessert and then left the canteen and walked through the corridors towards the game's room. A few minutes later they had arrived and entered the room, "somewhat do you want to play" asked Sam, "hmm let's play a card game" said Vanessa, "oh what kind of card game?" Asked Sam, "how about strip blackjack" said Vanessa.
Sam's eyes widened a little, "just kidding, just regular blackjack hehe" said Vanessa, Sam laughed a little and then they started to play some blackjack. A while later... "I win!" Said Sam as he showed his cards, "you're good at this" said Vanessa as she put her cards down, "I have played blackjack before many times haha" said Sam, "so what shall we do next?" Asked Vanessa as music continued to fill the base.
"Hmm I'm not sure, what about you?" Asked Sam, "I'm so full for our holiday meal, I think we should get some rest" said Vanessa. "I agree, let's get some sleep" said Sam, a few minutes later Sam and Vanessa had left the game's room and reached their sleeping quarters, "I had fun today" said Vanessa, "me too" said Sam, a moment later Vanessa kissed him on the cheek then went into her room.
Sam blushed a little then went into his room and lay on his bed, as he lay there Sam began to think about things, "hmm I wonder when the people in charge are going to send someone to take us home" he thought. Several minutes later Sam had fallen asleep, meanwhile outside the base in the darkness of the sea something strange was happening, the fish and other sea creatures swam around erratically in a kind of panic.
Something evil began to emerge from the dark abyss and the light's around the base began to flicker, then suddenly a disturbing sound echoed through the darkness. The light's stopped flickering and the evil had vanished back to the depths of the dark abyss as Sam and Vanessa continued to sleep throughout the night.
Six day's later...
It's now 31st December 2912, new year's eve and Sam and Vanessa were preparing to celebrate, they blew up some balloons and placed some decorations around the canteen. "Have you heard anything from the people in charge on the surface about sending someone to pick us up?" Asked Vanessa, "no net yet, I hope they send someone soon" said Sam as he finished decorating his side of the canteen.
"All done" said Vanessa as she finished decorating her side of the canteen, "have you seen anything unusual in the last couple of days?" Asked Sam, "hmm I don't think so, why do you ask" said Vanessa. "The light's have been flickering throughout the base again" said Sam, "yes I noticed that too" said Vanessa, "I checked the bases systems and replaced some older parts but the light's still flicker" said Sam.
"Hmm strange, I wonder..." Said Vanessa, "what're you thinking" said Sam, "you say Commander Georgiou left the base" said Vanessa. "Yes she did" said Sam, "did you actually see her leave?" Asked Vanessa, "now I think about it no, I never saw her leave the base" said Sam, "hmm strange" said Vanessa, "wait, if Commander Georgiou never left the base then where is she?" Said Sam, "hmm I don't know" said Vanessa
"I searched the entire base looking for Doctor Piper before, I would've found Commander Georgiou too if she were here still" said Sam. "Computer locate Commander Georgiou" said Vanessa, "Commander Georgiou is in the vault room" said the computer, "what!?" Said Sam, "computer track the Commander's movement" said Vanessa, "unable to complete request" said the computer.
"Why?" Asked Vanessa, "Commander Georgiou is no longer in the base" said the computer, "then that means she's outside" said Sam, "are there any diving suits missing?" Asked Vanessa. "No diving suits are missing" said the computer, "what!?, that means she's outside without a diving suit, she would drown out there" said Sam, "unless..." Said Vanessa, "unless what?" Asked Sam.
"Unless she's been infected and possessed..." Said Vanessa, "we should prepare ourselves" said Sam, a few minutes later Sam and Vanessa headed towards the air lock and put their diving suits and equipment on. "Are you ready?" Asked Sam, "let's go!" Said Vanessa.
