A short time later...
Doctor Piper and Sam had escorted Commander Aerhart to the medical bay, Commander Aerhart became more unsettled and tried to reach for Sam's gun. Sam acted quickly and ordered the Doctor to strap Commander Aerhart down to the bed, after Doctor Piper secured the straps she went to get something to calm the Commander down, "Commander talk to me, do you know where you are?" Asked Sam.
The Commander wriggled around on the medical bed as Doctor Piper brought over a needle, "What's your name, can you tell me" said Sam. Doctor Piper injected the Commander with a sedative and within moments he began to calm down, "I am Commander Amadeus Aerhart" he said, "good, can you remember who this is?" Asked Sam, "She is Doctor Morgan Piper" said Amadeus.
"You said something was here in our base, what did you see?" Asked Sam, "I saw it, red glowing eyes and a voice whispering to me" said Amadeus. "Where did you see it?" Asked Morgan, "it was in the mini sub hangar" said Amadeus, "stay here Doctor and keep an eye on him" said Sam, a moment later Sam activated his communicator, "Vanessa meet me at the mini sub hangar" said Sam.
"Yes Captain, on my way" said Vanessa, a few minutes or so later Sam and Vanessa had arrived at the mini sub hangar and drew their guns. "What are we looking for Captain?" Asked Vanessa, "I don't know, Commander Aerhart didn't say much" said Sam, Vanessa and Sam searched the entire mini sub hangar but found nothing unusual, "hmm there's nothing here, maybe he was imagining things" said Vanessa.
"Hmm I guess so, or maybe he did see something" said Sam, "if there was something in here it's not here anymore" said Vanessa. Sam activated his communicator again and said "Hex and Will keep your eyes open, we may have an intruder in the base" said Sam, "yes Captain" said Hex and Will, after searching the mini sub hangar a second time they decided to go back to the control room.
A few minutes later Sam and Vanessa had entered the control room and sat down, "computer activate blue alert status" said Sam. The computer activated blue alert and small lights around the base changed colour, "hmm what do we do now?" Asked Vanessa, "there's not much we can do for now" said Sam, "would you like to join me in the gym room?" Vanessa asked.
"Ok, I could use a distraction" said Sam, a short time later at the east side of the base Sam and Vanessa had arrived at the gym room and began to exercise. Sam walked on the treadmill as Vanessa hit and kicked the punch bag, "how long has Commander Aerhart been here?" Asked Vanessa, "he arrived a month before you did, he replaced Commander Giorgiou" said Sam.
"Oh what happened to Commander Georgiou?" Asked Vanessa, "we're not sure, one day she began acting strangely and told me she wanted to leave" said Sam. "Hmm" said Vanessa, "what is it?" Said Sam, "maybe the Commander Georgiou saw something as well" said Vanessa as she rapidly threw punches at the punch bag, "hmm so you're saying Commander Georgiou's strange behaviour is connected to what's happening with Amadeus?" Asked Sam.
"It might be" said Vanessa as Sam turned off the treadmill and walked towards Vanessa, Sam held the punch bag for her and kept it still. Vanessa continued to hit the punch bag hard and fast as Sam held onto it tight, "I think we should check the rest of the base" said Sam, "let's get refreshed and dressed first, then we can start looking" said Vanessa, several minutes later Sam and Vanessa had cleaned up, dressed themselves and began their search.
As they walked through the corridors of the base Sam activated his communicator, "Hex, Will, I want you to search the west and south part's of the base for anything unusual" said Sam. "Yes Captain, on our way now" said Hex and Will, "Doctor Piper how is Amadeus?" Asked Sam, "he's out cold, he'll be asleep for a while" said Morgan, "I need you to search the east side of the base Doctor" said Sam.
"Yes Captain I'll go right away" said Morgan, "ok Vanessa we'll search the north part of the base" said Sam as he drew his gun. "Let's make it quick" said Vanessa as she drew her gun, several minutes later Sam and Vanessa had reached the north part of the base and started looking around, suddenly the light's flickered around them, Sam contacted the rest of the crew and asked if the light's were flickering in their area's.
Hex, Will and Morgan said everything was fine in their area and Sam and Vanessa continued to look around, "looks like the light's are only flickering in our area" whispered Sam. "Maybe it's just something interfering with the bases systems in this area" said Vanessa, "hmm maybe" said Sam, meanwhile back at the medical bay Amadeus saw began to have a seizure.
His body shaking and twitching as his blood burned through his veins, moments later he screamed and and his heart failed. Meanwhile in the east side of the base Doctor Piper heard the screams, "what was that!?" Said Morgan as she ran through the corridors towards the medical bay, a few minutes later she arrived at the medical bay and saw Amadeus laying there lifeless, Morgan activated her communicator and said "Captain, it's Amadeus he's dead...".
"We're on our way Doctor Piper!" Said Sam, Vanessa and Sam ran through the corridors until they reached the medical bay. "What happened Doctor!?" Asked Vanessa, "I don't know, I heard screaming and came back here then I found him like this" said Morgan, "how did he die?" Asked Sam, "I don't know Captain, there's no signs of attack, it just seems like he was scared to death" said Morgan.
A few minutes later Hex and Will had arrived at the medical bay, "oh no..., what happened," said Hex and Will, "we don't know, Amadeus appears to have been scared to death, literally.." said Sam. The crew became silent as Doctor Piper put Amadeus's body into a pod and sealed it, "send the pod to the Abyss Doctor, he will be laid to rest there" said Sam, "yes Captain" said Morgan.
Moments later Morgan and the crew placed the pod into the ejection airlock and fired it out into the sea towards the depths.
