One day, while fetching water, Arivu saw an old man sitting under a tree, looking tired and hungry. Without hesitation, Arivu offered him food and water. The old man, grateful for the kindness, smiled and said, "You have given me what I needed the most. What do you desire in life?"
Arivu thought for a moment and replied, "Sugam—peace and joy. Nothing more."
The old man chuckled and handed him a small, radiant stone. "This will bring you everything you wish for, but remember, true 'sugam' lies in the heart, not in what you possess."
Curious but cautious, Arivu took the stone home. Gradually, life began to change. His garden flourished, his small house became a beautiful home, and villagers started visiting him for advice. Despite all this, Arivu often found himself longing for the quiet days by the river.
One evening, he returned the stone to the river, letting it sink into the waters. He smiled, realizing that the old man was right—his joy wasn't in what he gained but in the simple, selfless acts of kindness that had always filled his heart.
