The desert sands endlessly shifting in the howling wind
A traveller from a far away land walked beneath the burning sun

He walked alone, his only companion...his ever present shadow
The footprints he left behind now masked by the desert sands and wind

The traveller continued his quest in the raging heat of the desert
He searched for water, a fabled oasis rumoured to be nearby

Nobody knew where the rumour came from but he hoped it was true
So thirsty now and growing desperate for that cool pure water

The traveller now on his hands and knees exhausted
Determined to find the oasis he crawled across the hot desert sands

The sand burned with every touch as he continued onwards
Then finally he felt a little relief as nightfall had arrived

The air cooled down rapidly and then things became worse
The traveller shivered as the coldness of the desert night took hold

The desert showed no mercy to travellers
Burning heat during the day and freezing cold at night

His body gave in and he fell down the sand dunes
He now lay there beneath the moonlight thirsty and freezing

The traveller passed out until morning arrived
He awoke beneath the sun, his skin burning as the desert sun touched it

Still determined to find the fabled oasis he continued to crawl onwards
Eventually he collapsed and sank into the burning hot sands

He couldn't go on any longer but refused to give up and crawled once again
Time passed and suddenly he felt a cool breeze against his skin and looked up

The fabled oasis it was real!, he'd found it at last
The traveller built up just enough strength to stand and slowly walked forward

Moments later his legs failed him and he fell into the cool pure water
The water felt cool against his skin as he began to drink a little

He had found the oasis just in time but his journey was far from over...
