The worst kind of people are the ones who make you feel like you can trust them while secretly being someone completely different behind your back. They smile at you, talk to you like you mean the world to them, and make you believe that the bond you share is genuine. Then one day, you discover the things they said when you weren't around, and suddenly every conversation starts feeling different. What hurts the most isn't even what they said, but the fact that you trusted them enough to never imagine they could be that way. Over time, you realize that not everyone who calls you a friend actually wishes you well. Some people only stay close because it's convenient for them. I've learned that I don't need to hate two-faced people or expose them—I just need to see them for who they are and keep my distance. Not everyone deserves access to the real you.
