Athena, Odysseus and his remaining crewmen travelled south , they walked past the temple's of Aphrodite and Apollo and travelled closer towards the heart of the island. They arrived at a large village and bought some supplies from the market and refilled their water pouches , a few hours later they left the village and travelled further south , "how much further do we have to travel" said Odysseus's men , "not much further" said Odysseus as the mist started to become a little thicker.
An hour later Athen , Odysseus and his men had finally arrived at the heart of the island , there in front of them was another lake surrounded by waterfalls , the mist seemed to move closer towards them. "Is it me or is that mist moving" said Athena , the mist covered more of the area around the lake , Odysseus gave the map to Athena so she could protect it , the mist creeped even closer towards them , suddenly Odysseus saw something glow beneath the water in the lake.
"Follow me" said Odysseus , Athena , Odysseus and his crew jumped into the lake and took a deep breath and dived under , they swam deeper and deeper towards the glowing object. The mist had covered the lake...there was no going back now....they swam deeper until they finally reached the glowing object , they all placed their hands on the object and then a burst of white flashed in front of them , moments later Athena , Odysseus and his crew found themselves standing on dry land.
"Where are we" said Odysseus as they all looked around , in front of them stood a large tree with golden leaves and apples hanging from the branches , suddenly a woman appeared in front of them , "don't touch those apples , they belong to the god Helios" said the woman and then vanished right in front of them. "You heard her men , don't touch the apple's" said Odysseus , Athena , Odysseus and his crew sat underneath the large tree and fell asleep as their wet clothes dried in the sunlight.
Odysseus turned around as he slept and then heard a stick snapping near him , Odysseus woke up and saw his men eating some apple's , "what are you doing" said Odysseus , "we were hungry" said Odysseus's men. Suddenly thunder rumbled high in the sky and the sunlight grew warmer , "how dare you touch my apple's...."you shall be punished" said a voice , moments later the god Helios appeared in front of them , a frown on his face , Odysseus's men dropped the apple's and backed away.
Helios's eyes glowed yellow as he used his godly powers and turned Odysseus's men into pigs and watched them squealing as they ran around , Helios laughed as they rolled around in the mud. Odysseus and Athena tried to get Helios to show mercy , "hmm very well, I will show mercy this time" said Helios as he turned Odysseus's men back into human form , "I hereby banish you to the island of circle" said Helios to Odysseus's men , he clicked his fingers and transported Odysseus's men to the island where circe lived.
Athena and Odysseus thanked the god Helios for his mercy and then moments later Helios vanished back to his domain , "looks like it's just the two of us now" said Athena as she smiled and held his hand. "Let us travel onwards" said Odysseus , Odysseus and Athena travelled onwards across the flower filled meadows and fields and passed by an abandoned olive tree farm until they reached a dead end , there in front of them stood a cliff , "looks like there's nowhere to go" said Athena , Odysseus looked closely at the cliff and noticed some strange symbols in a vertical rectangular pattern.
"I think there's a doorway here" said Odysseus , Athena read the symbols out loud and suddenly an opening appeared in the cliff face , Odysseus took a branch from the ground and wrapped an old piece of cloth around it and then Athena used her powers to set it alight creating a torch , "let's see what awaits us" said Odysseus as he and Athena slowly walked through the opening and into the dark tunnel.
Odysseus and Athena walked through the dark tunnel as the torch lit up the path ahead , they felt like they had been walking through the tunnel for hours as they went deeper into the tunnels. Spiders crawled across the walls as rats ran across the ground , suddenly a light appeared further down the tunnel , "maybe that's an exit" said Odysseus as he and Athena walked closer and closer towards the light.
A few minutes later Athena and Odysseus found themselves outside again as they stood on a beach , waves caressed the shoreline as the sun shone bright and birds flew through the air. "Where are we" said Odysseus as he and Athena looked around , dolphins jumped in and out of the water as it shimmered under the sun , suddenly a tidal wave appeared and it was coming straight towards them fast...
