Athena, Odysseus and his crew sailed onwards until they reached an island called Thasos , they climbed off the boat and walked across the beach and towards the fields ahead of them , after an hour they reached a town surrounded by rows of olive trees. The villagers stood under the trees and shook the branches as they harvested the olives , the smell of olives and freshly baked bread in the air as Athena, Odysseus and his men walked through the village, the villagers were holding a melee competition where competitors fought to the death.
Suddenly a man walked up to Odysseus , " I challenge you to a duel to the death" said the man , "I accept your challenge" said Odysseus , they walked to the field in the middle of the olive trees and took their places. A crowd gathered around them as Athena and Odysseus's men walked over to the field and watched, Odysseus drew his sword and twirled it around in his hand as his opponent wielded an axe , suddenly the man charged forward and swung his axe at Odysseus narrowly missing his head , he swung his axe again but Odysseus thrust his sword forward and blocked the attack.
Odysseus and his opponent pushed each other back and forth then Odysseus pushed harder knocking the man onto the ground , his opponent stood up and charged towards Odysseus and thrust his axe forward, Odysseus swiftly dodged the attack and rolled out of the way , his opponent was fast and swung his axe towards his head. Odysseus ducked then the man lost his balance and nearly fell , Odysseus slashed his sword forward towards the man and shred his armour , the man quickly turned around and jumped towards Odysseus and knocked him ont the ground , they wrestled on the ground trying to fight each other off then Odysseus tried to reach his sword as he was held down.
The man quickly moved and grabbed his axe , as he started to swing his axe down Odysseus grabbed his sword and thrust it through his opponents gut , suddenly the man dropped his axe as blood dripped out of his mouth and down his face. Odysseus stood up and thrust his sword further through his opponents body the pulled it out , the man's blood dripping off his divine sword as Odysseus watched his opponent fall to his knees and breathe his final breath, the crowd , Athena and his men cheered loudly.
A few hours later Athena, Odysseus and his men took part in the towns annual olive festival , music filled the air as the villagers played games and danced , the trees blowed in the gentle breeze as the golden sunlight shone down over the island , later that day Athena, Odysseus and his crew said goodbye to the villagers and headed onwards on their journey...
