The next day Athena, Odysseus and his crew said goodbye to the citizens of Ermoupolis and travelled down the hills and reached the beach , they climbed aboard the ship and set sail. They sailed towards their next destination as the sun shone over them , the clear blue sea shimmered in the light as the wind blew against the ships sail , after a few days they had finally reached their next destination , "welcome to Chios" said Athena as they anchored the ship and walked ashore.
They walked through the fields for a while until they reached a town , the houses each with their own garden, the smell of flowers blowed through the gentle breeze and the river flowed by the edge of the town. Athena, Odysseus and his men walked across the bridge and into the town then Athena walked towards one of the gardens and looked at the flowers , "these flowers are beautiful" said Athena as she smelled them , then a woman said, "you can take one if you want" , Athena said thank you to the woman as she picked a flower and placed it in her long brown hair and smiled.
Athena walked back to Odysseus and his men then they all walked to the centre of the town, they reached a tavern and sat outside and enjoyed the sunny weather and beautiful scenery. They drank some wine and ate some freshly prepared lamb stew and flatbread, they enjoyed their meal and then walked onwards out of the town and towards the hills , after a couple of hours they saw a building just ahead , "look ahead, the temple of Demeter" said Athena. The temple was surrounded by flowers in a rainbow of colours as a waterfall ran down the hills close by as the sun shone down over them , suddenly a rainbow appeared in the sky above them.
A burst of green light flashed in front of them and a woman appeared, her long red hair and green dress flowed in the gentle breeze, "Demeter" said Athena , "welcome to my temple, I am here to warn you there is danger ahead" , Odysseus with a look of concern on his face as he looked at his men and then back to Demeter, "what kind of danger" he said, Demeter told them that something was waiting for them ahead in the smaller mountain area. Suddenly Demeter vanished in a burst of green light then Athena, Odysseus and his crew walked onwards towards the smaller mountain area and wondered what was waiting for them there...
