Later that month, 29th May 19:20 pm...
Talia, Daniel and their daughter's Rose and Kassandra had finished decorating the mansion and preparing the food for their masquerade party. Afterwards they went to their rooms and changed into their masquerade costumes before people started to arrive, Talia had chosen to wear her favourite black dress with red satin design for the evening as Daniel put on his black suit.
You look beautiful Talia my love" said Daniel, "thank you my love" said Talia as she slipped into her costume, meanwhile down the hall in second bedroom Rose had chosen her costume. Rose chose her favourite blood red coloured lace dress and black jewellery for the evening, "it has been a long time since I wore this dress" thought Rose as she put it on, a few minutes later Rose put her black jewellery on then left her room.
Meanwhile in the third bedroom Kassandra had put on her favourite black and gold dress and brushed her hair, "all done, I should go downstairs" said Kassandra as she placed her brush down. A few minutes later Kassandra and Rose stood in the hall and waited for their parents, several moments later Talia and Daniel slowly walked down the stairs towards the hall .
Mother, father there you are!" Said Kassandra, "the guest's shall be arriving any moment" said Rose, "alright Kassandra you wait outside the dining room" said Daniel. "Rose I want you to wait outside the ballroom" said Talia, a moment later Rose walked towards the ballroom whilst Kassandra went to the dining room, "right then we shall wait here for the guests to arrive" said Daniel.
Seven minutes later the guest's had started to arrive, Daniel opened the front door as the guest's walked down the path towards the mansion. "Ah Mayor Ravenwood welcome to our home" said Daniel, "thank you for the invitation" said Mayor Ravenwood as he went inside the mansion, "good evening Mr Clearwater" said Talia, "how is the lighthouse these day's?" Asked Daniel.
"The lighthouse is fully restored and in good working order" said Mr Clearwater as he entered the mansion, fifteen minutes later all of the guests had arrived and the masquerade party was in full swing. Some of the guest's sat in the dining room and ate some food and drank some wine as the other guest's danced in the ballroom, Rose was in the ballroom dancing with the new gardener Edward.
They danced slowly around the ballroom as the other guest's watched and joined in, "this is an excellent masquerade party" said Edward, "this is my first one, I am enjoying it!" Said Rose as they continued to dance. Meanwhile in the dining room Kassandra stood by the window and talked to the lighthouse keeper's wife Mrs Clearwater, "how are things going at the lighthouse, are you settling in well?" Asked Kassandra.
"Oh yes very much so my dear" said Mrs Clearwater as she held a glass of wine, "that is good to hear Mrs Clearwater" said Kassandra. "How are you doing now that you have returned to Blackthorn Valley?" Asked Mrs Clearwater, "I like it here, seems a little more peaceful since I was last here" said Kassandra, Mrs Clearwater looked at her and smiled then proceeded to drink her wine.
As Talia and Daniel mingled with the guest's, Rose and Edward went outside into the back garden and then sat on the bench. Rose and Edward looked at each other as the moonlight glowed in the clear night sky then suddenly Edward leaned in towards her, "wait, there is something you must know" said Rose, "what is it?" Asked Edward, "I...I am a vampire.." said Rose.
Edward became silent for a few moments and thought to himself, Rose showed him her fang's and played her hand upon his then said "are you afraid?". "No, I am not afraid.." said Edward, a few moments later they kissed beneath the moonlight, a minute or so later Rose lowered her head and then sank her fang's into Edward's neck and began to drain his blood.
Meanwhile back inside the mansion Kassandra went into the ballroom and then danced with Mayor Ravenwood as Talia and Daniel went into the library for a moment. "The masquerade party is a success" said Daniel as music echoed throughout the mansion, "we shall be the most popular people in the village!" Said Talia as she and Daniel sat down beside a bookshelf.
"We should have more masquerade parties in the future" said Daniel, "yes that is a good idea my love" said Talia, "alright we must get back to the party and rejoin our guest's" said Daniel. Several moments later Talia and Daniel rejoined their guest's in the dining room as Kassandra sat down and watched the other guest's dance, the smell of food filled the air as the music continued to play and people enjoyed themselves.
