59 matches and 3 Play-offs matches later, we finally have the two teams that shall play the much-coveted final of IPL 2021.

While CSK defeated Delhi Capitals in Qualifier 1, KKR defeated RCB in Eliminator 1 and Delhi Capitals in qualifier 2 to book a place in the final.

Shockingly, Delhi Capitals finished third after back-to-back losses in Playoffs.

But what a turnaround this has been for Kolkata Knight Riders, who were reeling at the bottom of the table before the beginning of the second leg of IPL 2021. They had won only 2 matches from their initial 7 games, but won 7 of their next 9 matches to book a place in the final. Credit goes to the management on how they adapted their approach in the second half.

For CSK, they were going great until the last 3 group stage matches. They had won 9 out of their first 11 matches, but lost the last three matches before winning the all-important Qualifier 1 against Delhi Capitals. With that win, CSK booked their 9th place in the final; the most by any team in IPL history.

Match Details:

Type: IPL 2021 Final – CSK vs KKR

When: October 15, 2021

Where: Dubai

Time: 7:30 pm IST

Both, Chennai Super Kings and Kolkata Knight Riders have been extremely strong and adaptable to the UAE conditions. With Dubai being the destination of the final, expect the pitch to be a little more sporty as compared to Sharjah, which has been on the lower side for most of this season.

Having said that, will teams make any changes in their squad and go with the same 11, or will the injured first-choice players make a comeback to the final? Let’s find out the predicted playing 11 and top players to watch out for, for IPL 2021 Final.

IPL 2021 Final CSK vs KKR: Predicted Playing 11 for CSK

The biggest question for Chennai Super Kings shall be the availability of Suresh Raina, who was recently ruled out of the last two matches due to injury. However, CSK won’t be too much worried given the form his replacement, Robin Uthappa has shown in the last game.

CSK might not want to risk a half-fit Suresh Raina for the final. That means, Robin Uthappa, who was the architect of Qualifier 1 win shall continue at number 3. Apart from this predicted change, CSK should not have any change in the playing 11 that played against Delhi Capitals.

From the players’ standpoint, Faf du Plessis will play a key role seeing his failure in Qualifier 1. Given the intensity of the final, it is unlikely that Moeen Ali and Ravindra Jadeja will not have a role to play. Hence, investing in them is a wise decision. Shardul too had a below-par outing in the last game, so expect him to do well in the final.

IPL 2021 Final CSK vs KKR: Predicted Playing 11 for Chennai Super Kings

Faf du Plessis, Ruturaj Gaikwad, Robin Uthappa, Moeen Ali, Ambati Rayudu, MS Dhoni (C&WK), Ravindra Jadeja, Dwayne Bravo, Shardul Thakur, Deepak Chahar & Josh Hazlewood.

IPL 2021 Final CSK vs KKR: Predicted Playing 11 for KKR

Similar to CSK, the biggest question for KKR shall be whether the big man, Andre Russell recovers in time before the final. If Russell does recover, Shakib Al Hasan shall make way for him. No doubt for the contribution with the bat, Russell shall be an asset on the pace-friendly Dubai pitch.

From the players’ standpoint, the top-order shall once again play a crucial role for KKR. With the Dubai pitch being more pace-friendly, expect Venkatesh Iyer to bowl a few overs if Russell isn’t playing. Moreover, Dinesh Karthik might have an important role to play in the final.

Shubman Gill, Venkatesh Iyer, Rahul Tripathi, Nitish Rana, Eoin Morgan (C), Andre Russell, Dinesh Karthik (WK), Sunil Narine, Lockie Ferguson, Varun Chakravarthy & Shivam Mavi

So, that completes the predicted playing 11 for both the teams. From the fantasy cricket point of view, one can look to select the following 11.
