The night was quiet, but their hearts had a thousand things to say.
She stood by the window, lost in thought, when he came up behind her. Gently brushing her hair to one side, he leaned closer, his warm breath grazing her neck.
“What's on your mind?” he whispered.
“Nothing,” she smiled, knowing he wouldn't believe her.
He wrapped his arms around her waist and placed a soft kiss just below her ear. Then another, a little lower, lingering long enough to make her close her eyes.
“Someone might notice,” she whispered, blushing.
He smiled against her skin. “Then they'll know someone loves you a little too much.”
The next morning, as she stood before the mirror, she noticed a faint mark on her neck. She touched it gently, remembering the way he'd held her.
Her phone lit up with his message.
“Did I leave something behind, baby?”
She smiled and typed back, “You forgot your signature.”
His reply came instantly.
“I didn't forget, love. Some love letters aren't written on paper. And that one was meant only for you.”
She pulled her hair over her shoulder, hiding the little secret.
Because sometimes, the most beautiful love stories aren't written in words… they're whispered through kisses and signed on the skin.
