In the solitude of quiet
She felt a movement
A subtle change
The moon shining golden
Dusting her dormant dreams

She felt stifled by life
Breathing was strained
Suffocating with thoughts
That drowned her soul
Fragile little cracks in her psyche
Letting in painful remnants
Of a tragic yesterday

Today she feels a cleansing sweep
She can breathe
Feeling a new day dawning
A new perspective
She is still here
Still meeting each day
Still striving to once more belong
Among the living

A little tattered and worn
A little older, hopefully wiser
Once more able to shine
A fading rose ready to bloom bright
In the garden of dreams unfulfilled

Ready to face those things that challenge
Ready to face the mirror
Accepting the losses, the regrets and the time wasted
Ready to be bathed in renewal
