Hedonists are those who consider pleasure or satisfaction of one's desires as the primary goal of life. Such persons are always on the move to achieve whatever will give them satisfaction.
The following story tells us about hedonistic tendencies in human beings.
Ramakrishna was the brightest child born to Radhika and Gangaram in one of the South Indian cities. The other two siblings were girls and were elder to Ramakrishna. Gangaram was a businessman and had a rich background and Radhika was a housewife. Their main goal was to give the best education to their children. Ramakrishna was very special in nature, attitude, and behaviour. He preferred to be in his room most of the time. He had very few selected friends. He loved good food and enjoyed watching action movies. As Ramakrishna was unable to adjust with the other family members in watching news or serials, his father bought a new TV only for his use. In the same way, he was very particular about his food habits. Without considering others' likes and dislikes, very often he ordered food from hotels that he liked. Also, he did not like beggars and poor people. According to him, they themselves are responsible for their miserable condition. He had no sympathy for them and never helped them.
