Eternal Embrace: Part 7: A Place To Stay

The Atlantean

Epic Legend
The moon shone bright and the wind howled as Talia and Daniel travelled through the night towards their new home , the horse's galloped fast across the muddy ground as they pulled the carriage. They travelled through the dark woods as the leaves fell down from the trees , Talia looked out of the window and watched the fireflies glowing around the river , "you are excited to see our new home?" Asked Daniel , Talia turned around and smiled at him and then rested her head again his shoulder.

"I am excited to see it , I cannot wait to get there" said Talia as Daniel wrapped his arm around her waist , they travelled onwards deeper into the dark woods as a swarm of bats flew straight over the horse carriage. The driver steered the carriage towards the right and drove down the road , a few hours later the horse carriage had slowed down as they approached a small city , "we will have to stay here during the daylight" said Daniel as he took Talia's hand.

They climbed out of the carriage then grabbed their luggage and payed the driver his fee and asked him to return at sunset , Talia and Daniel walked down the street until they reached an old house beside the cathedral. "Is this house where we will be staying" asked Talia , Daniel held her hand and nodded , "this house belongs to that old friend of mine , he said we could stay here during our journey to our new home" he said , a few moments later Daniel and Talia opened the door and walked inside the old house.

The outside of the old house was covered in ivy and moss and hadn't been lived in for a long while , "your friend does not live here anymore?" Asked Talia , "No this house has been empty for years now" said Daniel. As the sun started to rise Talia and Daniel quickly walked up the stairs and into the bedroom , Daniel quickly closed the curtains and took the dust sheet off the bed , "the bed isn't as comfortable as the one back at my old cabin but it will do" he said as he lay on the bed.

Talia lay next to him and held him close and closed her eyes , Daniel kissed her forehead gently and then closed his eyes , the minutes and hours passed until sunset had finally arrived. Daniel and Talia awoke from their slumber and left the bedroom then went down the stairs , "ready to continue our journey?" Said Daniel , "let us go , I am sure our new home will be beautiful" said Talia , a moment later they went outside and found the carriage driver waiting for them.

They climbed into the horse carriage and closed the door then sat down , the driver pulled the reigns and the horses began to gallop , the horses galloped fast across the road. They travelled onwards towards their new home passing beneath a large bridge and past the meadows as the clouds began to block out the moonlight , a couple of hours later the horse carriage had suddenly stopped , Daniel leaned out of the window and talked to the driver.

"Driver , why have we stopped?" Asked Daniel , "the road is blocked by a tree sir , it must've fell during the recent storm" he said , Daniel and Talia climbed out of the horse carriage and inspected the fallen tree. "This tree did not fall from the storm , something knocked it down" said Daniel , "driver , please wait inside the carriage" said Talia , moments later a large figure appeared amongst the shadows around the ground of trees on the right side of the road.

"Come out of the shadows at once whoever you are" said Talia , suddenly a large man came out of the shadows , his face and arms covered in fresh stitches , his skin pale green and strangely shaped body. The large man groaned and then began to charge towards them...
