Merlin , Kassandra and Altair had arrived in the phantom realm , Kassandra saw her sister and parents floating there in the darkness. "Look there , my family!" Said Kassandra , "there are the townsfolk over there" said Altair as he pointed to the left , "are you ready?" Asked Merlin , "yes I am ready to make the sacrifice to save them" said Kassandra , "there must be another way" said Altair.
"I'm afraid not , someone must die to release the townsfolk and Kassandra's family" said Merlin , "then i shall do it!" Said Altair. "No! , you have already died once , I shall not let that happen again!" Said Kassandra as Merlin walked towards them , "stop this , we do not have much time here in the shadow realm" said Merlin , "then we must act quickly" said Kassandra.
"I cannot let you do this Kassandra" said Merlin "what do you mean?" Asked Kassandra , "I am an old man , all my friends are gone , Arthur , Guinevere and now my enemy Morgan...I no longer belong" said Merlin. "Kassandra stood in silence for a moment then thanked Merlin for helping her and her family , "Altair please take Kassandra back to your world , I shall make the sacrifice" said Merlin.
Moments later Altair took Kassandra and led her through the gateway back to their world , "it is time to meet my father..." Said Merlin as he gripped his staff firmly. A minute or so later Merlin unleashed an enormous burst of magic , the burst of magic sent a shockwave through the shadow realm and enveloped Kassandra's family and the townsfolk , "you are free now.." said Merlin.
Kassandra's family and the townsfolk vanished from the shadow realm and reappeared in their own world , moments later the shadow realm began to collapse all around Merlin. Meanwhile back in their world Kassandra and her family were reunited and the town was bustling once again as the townsfolk walked through the streets , suddenly everyone heard a noise.
"What was that!?" Said Rose , Kassandra , her family and Altair turned around and looked at the gateway to the shadow realm. Suddenly..."BOOM!!" ....an explosion tore through the shadow realm and moments later the gateway had vanished , "Merlin...." Said Kassandra quietly , "we shall not forget Merlin's sacrifice!" Said Altair , "he saved us , he saved Trinity hale and our world" said Rose.
"Yes..thank you for everything Merlin" said Daniel and Talia as snow began to fall over Trinity Hale , "let us all go home" said Kassandra , "yes let us enjoy the rest of the winter holiday" said Talia as she and her family and Altair walked through the streets towards Kassandra and Rose's home.
Meanwhile in Merlin's world...
"How did I get here?" Said a man , "ah there you are Merlin , it is good to see you" said another man , Merlin turned around and there in front of him he saw his friends King Arthur and his wife Guinevere. "You are alive!" Said Merlin , "yes Merlin , we are not sure how but we missed you" said Guinevere as she smiled at Merlin , "I thought the explosion in the shadow realm would have killed me" thought Merlin.
A moment later a voice whispered into Merlin's ear , "nothing can kill you Merlin my friend , you are immortal" said the voice. Merlin did not question what he had just heard and smiled , "come on Merlin , let us go back to Camelot , we have a feast to prepare" said King Arthur , "coming sire" said Merlin and followed them.
