Do Good and Forget It.

There is a profoundly beautiful rule for a peaceful life- "Do good and forget it." In a world that constantly keeps track of every favor and measures every transaction, choosing to give without keeping a receipt is one of the purest forms of love. It is the quiet choice to leave a piece of your warmth in someone's life, without ever turning back to see if they noticed.
When we do a good deed and silently wait for gratitude, we attach an invisible string to our heart. If the appreciation never comes, our beautiful gesture suddenly turns into bitterness, and we end up hurting ourselves. But when you do good and instantly let it fade from your memory, you protect the purity of your own soul. You give because it is in your nature to be kind, not because you need applause. You love because your heart is full, not because it is empty and seeking a reward.
True kindness is a quiet whisper, never a loud announcement. So, plant seeds of goodness wherever your journey takes you, even if you never get to sit in the shade of those trees. Wipe a tear, share a smile, or offer a helping hand, and then gracefully walk away. Do good, gently forget it, and trust the universe. Because the love you give away without expecting anything in return is the exact love that will eventually heal your own heart. Sometimes, the best things we do are the ones we no longer remember, but someone else carries in their heart forever.

The other side of kindness which i realized:

The world has a way of showing you another side of people you never thought you would see.

When you are kind, when you keep helping someone even while you are struggling inside, when you keep showing up for them while you are burning yourself out, you do it because you genuinely care. You see their life getting a little better, and somehow, their happiness becomes your happiness too.

But sometimes, after everything you have done, you see a side of them you never expected. The kind of behaviour that hurts more because it comes from someone you trusted deeply.

And you start asking yourself, “After everything I did for this person… is this what I deserve in return?”

But the moment you ask that question from a place of heartbreak, somehow, you become the villain.

They will find comfort in someone else. They will seek shelter, advice, and understanding from people who were not there when they were at their lowest. People who didn't see the nights you spent worrying, the sacrifices you made, or the way you tried to pull them out of a miserable place.

And if you ever wonder, “Where were all these people when I was the only one standing beside them?”then apparently, you are still the villain.

Maybe that's the cruelest lesson life teaches us - sometimes people remember who made them feel comfortable, but forget who helped them survive their most uncomfortable days.

They remember the one moment you questioned their behaviour, but forget all the moments when you stood by them without questioning anything.

And eventually, you start wondering whether some people only keep you around for the comfort of knowing that, whenever they fall, you will be there to pull them back up. They may need your kindness, your strength, your advice, and your support, but they may never stop to think about what their actions are doing to the person who keeps giving all of that.

The hardest part is realizing that when you finally get hurt, no one really cares about the damage it did to you. They only care that you reacted to it.

Life has pushed me to a point where I don't want to become that person anymore, the person who destroys themselves trying to save someone else.

Because there comes a time when helping someone shouldn't mean losing yourself.

And maybe I'm not a villain for finally asking, “What about me? Who is there for me when I'm the one falling apart?”

Maybe I'm just tired.

Tired of being strong for people who never noticed how much it was costing me to be strong.

And honestly, that's the most miserable part of it all, not that I helped, not that I cared, not that I gave too much.

It's realizing that I would still do it all again for someone I loved, even knowing how badly it could break me... :)

People often forget who held their hand in the dark the moment they finally find the light. This is a painful truth, but you wrote it so perfectly. Never feel guilty for choosing yourself.
