Maybe chess was never really about winning.
Maybe it's a love story disguised as a game.
The King is powerful, but helpless without someone protecting him.
The Queen can move anywhere she wants…
yet she spends most of the game protecting the King.
The Knight moves strangely.
Never in a straight line.
Maybe that's what love is too—
finding your way to someone even when the path makes no sense.
The Bishop can only move diagonally.
It can't take the road everyone else takes.
But somehow, it still reaches the person it wants to protect.
The Rook moves straight.
No games.
No confusion.
Just forward.
Like someone who knows exactly who they want.
And the Pawn…
the smallest piece on the board.
It takes one step at a time.
Gets sacrificed.
Gets forgotten.
But if it survives long enough…
it can become anything.
Maybe that's the most beautiful part.
Two people sit across from each other.
A board between them.
64 squares.
32 pieces.
Millions of possible moves.
And neither knows how the story will end.
You protect.
You sacrifice.
You take risks.
You make mistakes.
Sometimes you have to let someone go…
just to save someone else.
Sometimes the person you thought would stay beside you…
becomes the piece you have to sacrifice.
And sometimes…
after everything you've lost,
you look across the board and realize—
the person you were fighting against was the person who made the game worth playing.
Maybe that's why chess feels so much like love.
You never know the next move.
You just hope they're still there when it's your turn.
