Athena and Aphelia walked onwards as they went deeper into the cave, as they walked across a small path slowly and carefully they saw the river of lava flowing below them. A few minutes later they had reached a slope, "if we go down this slope we will not be able to get back up" said Aphelia, "we have no choice, we must save Odysseus!" Whispered Athena, a few seconds later Athena and Aphelia slid down the slope.
They kept their balance as they slid down the long slope, moments later they had reached flat ground, Athena and Aphelia moved behind a wall quickly as they heard footsteps nearby. Athena looked around the corner carefully and saw Ares heading down a tunnel, a moment later Athena and Aphelia followed him through the dimly lit tunnel's until he had reached the cell room.
"Let me out of here.." said a voice, "Odysseus!" Said Athena quietly, "be quiet mortal or I shall throw you into the lava" said Ares. Ares paced around the room as Odysseus grabbed the bars of his cell, "why have I been brought here?" said Odysseus, "SILENCE!!!, I SHALL KILL YOU IF YOU SPEAK AGAIN!" shouted Ares, suddenly Aphelia's foot slipped and she knocked a barrel over.
"WHO IS THERE, COME OUT OF THE SHADOWS!" shouted Ares, a moment later Aphelia stood up and entered the cell room. "Who are you?, tell me now!!" Said Ares as he drew his sword, "I am Aphelia" she said, "what are you doing here sorceress?" asked Ares as he grabbed her dress, then suddenly Athena unleashed an almighty blast of red and gold energy and fired it towards Ares.
"CRASH!!"...The energy blast hit Ares sending him through the air and crashing into a pile of rocks, "let Odysseus go Ares!" Demanded Athena. Ares stood up and unleashed a fireball and fired it towards Athena, a split second later Athena lifted her shield up in front of her, Ares fireball hit her shield and bounced off it, the fireball flew towards Aphelia then hit her.
Aphelia fell to the ground, her dress scorched and her skin burnt, "why did you take Odysseus!?" Athena asked, "I needed him for the ritual.." said Ares. "What ritual?" Said Athena, "I needed the blood of a hero to summon Nyx" said Ares, "I cannot allow you to release her from her imprisonment!" Said Athena, "you cannot stop me!" Said Ares, "how did you get to this island, I could not transport here, no god can" said Athena.
"I sailed to this island from the west" said Ares, Athena gripped her sword and shield firmly as Ares moved a little closer. While Ares back was turned Aphelia reached out and carefully took the key to the cell's from his belt. A moment later Aphelia crawled across the dust and smoke covered ground towards Odysseus's cell as Athena and Ares stared at each other.
Ares turned around and threw a dagger towards Aphelia, the dagger flew towards Aphelia, a moment later the dagger hit her in the back. Aphelia lay there silently as Ares laughed. "The hero is not leaving this place!" Said Ares, "you shall pay for this Ares!" Said Athena, "come fight me sister" said Ares as he taunted her.
