Athena and Aphelia moved swiftly towards the cave of dread then went inside, Athena held her sword firmly as she and Aphelia walked slowly through the cave. "Look, there is light ahead!" Whispered Aphelia, moments later Athena and Aphelia had reached a path that led in three direction's, "hmm the left path leads to the river of sylphae" said Aphelia, "there is a river inside a cave?...hmm unusual.." said Athena curiously.
"The right path leads to dread hollow" said Aphelia, "what is that?" Asked Athena, "it is a deeper part of the cave, it goes to a strange unstable place" said Aphelia. "Hmm this center path leads to the hallowed tomb's" said Athena, Aphelia stood there for a moment in silence and thought to herself, "which path do we take" said Athena, "we cannot search them all" said Aphelia.
A few moments later Aphelia entered some kind of trance and her eyes began to glow brighter than before, "I sense something" said Aphelia. "What is it?" Asked Athena, "I sense a lost soul all alone deep in the darkness, trapped and helpless" said Aphelia, "is it him, is it Odysseus?" Athena asked, "it is him, he is in dread hollow deep inside this cave" said Aphelia.
A few moments later Athena and Aphelia walked down the path to the right and moved swiftly and silently through the shadows. Ahead of them were torches with green flames lighting up the tunnels, there is a room ahead of us" whispered Athena, they sneaked towards the room's entrance and stayed out of sight, "if we get caught here it will not end well" said Aphelia.
"I am Athena goddess of Olympus, I cannot be harmed or killed" whispered Athena, "I can be harmed or worse..." Said Aphelia. They looked into the room and saw two strange creatures in front of them, "harpies!, I can take them down easily" Athena whispered, a few moments later she moved silently and swiftly around the room, seconds later she swung her sword through the air towards the harpies.
"SLASH!!", with two swift swings of her sword Athena had cut off the harpies heads killing them without making a sound. Moments later Athena gave Aphelia a signal to follow her, "we may not be so fortunate next time" whispered Aphelia as they walked through the cave tunnels, Athena and Aphelia walked deeper into the cave until they reached another room.
"Stop!, do not move!" Athena whispered, "what his it?" Whispered Aphelia, "it is a wraith.." said Athena, "let me kill this wraith, I have vanquished many before" Aphelia whispered. Athena nodded as Aphelia moved closer towards the wraith, a few moments later Aphelia used her magic and fired a blast of green energy at the wraith, seconds later the wraith had become frozen where it hovered.
Aphelia fired a blast of purple energy and shattered the wraith into pieces and vanquished it, "come, let us move onward swiftly" said Aphelia. A moment later Athena and Aphelia walked further and deeper into the cave of dread until they heard talking close by, "where is the prisoner?" Said a familiar voice, "I know that voice...it is Ares!" Whispered Athena, "the prisoner is in the cell's lower down" said another voice.
"I shall go there now, here is your payment" said Ares, a few moments later Ares walked away towards the cell's, Athena leapt out of the shadows and attacked the man. She held her sword against the man's throat and began to interrogate him, "why did Ares give you that money!" Said Athena, "he hired me to snatch that hero" said the man, his armour covered in blood and smoke as he dare not move.
"Why?" Asked Athena, "I do not know, he did not say why he wanted the hero" said the man, a few moments later Athena let him go and then Aphelia pushed the man over the edge of a rocky ledge. Aphelia and Athena watched as he fell down deeper and deeper then crash into the lava below, "I could have knocked him out for a while, you did not have to murder him.." said Athena.
"We must not alert anyone to our presence, we could not risk him regaining consciousness and sounding an alarm" said Aphelia. Athena was unhappy but they continued onwards towards the cell's.
