Imperfections – The Pot Story
Once upon a time, a water bearer in India had two large pots. He carried them every day, hanging from a pole across his shoulders. One pot was perfect, holding water all the way to the master’s house. The other pot had a crack in it. By the time the water bearer reached home, the cracked pot was only half full.
For two years this went on. The perfect pot was proud of itself—it never lost a drop. But the cracked pot felt ashamed, thinking it was a failure. Finally, one day, the cracked pot spoke to the water bearer:
“I am so sorry. Because of my flaw, you do not get the full value of your work.”
The water bearer smiled and said:
“Did you notice the path we take every day? Flowers bloom only on your side of the road, not on the other. I planted seeds there because I knew of your crack. Every day, you watered them without realizing it. For two years, I’ve been able to decorate my master’s table with beautiful flowers—because of you.”
The cracked pot was stunned. What it thought was a weakness was actually its unique gift.
Moral Expansion :
Imperfections are not shortcomings, they are hidden strengths.
The very “crack” you dislike in yourself may be the reason someone else finds joy, comfort, or beauty.
We often measure our worth by perfection, but life blooms through flaws.
So, imperfections are not barriers; they are pathways for unexpected purposes. Just like the cracked pot, our flaws may water someone else’s garden..
