Dear Heart,
I never realised how much weight you carried until everything started to feel heavy.
I lived in the memories of you. That was a beautiful feeling.
I lived in the imagination of you. That, too, was a beautiful feeling.
But now, I'm living in the pain of waiting and the longing to be reunited with you.
And it feels so, so heavy.
I've never felt anything like this before.
The pain of waiting adds weight to my heart with every breath.
It's so difficult to walk alone, to take another step in life without you.
My feelings are stuck somewhere between hope and helplessness.
Why does your absence make my heart so heavy?
Is it overthinking? Is it loneliness? Is it a lack of trust? Or have I lost faith in the things I once believed?
Something happened deep inside you. I know it.
Or perhaps...
You pretend to be stronger than you really are.
Maybe you're carrying a weight of your own.
Maybe you're waiting, too.
Maybe your heart is asking the same question mine is asking:
“When will this waiting finally end?”
Until then, dear heart...
Keep beating.
Even when every beat feels like a burden.
Because somewhere, beyond this distance, there may be a heart waiting to beat alongside yours.
